It may be recalled that education minister earlier also announced that the newly recruited 10+2 lecturers will now draw full salary instead of consolidated Rs 15000 for the first five years of their services.

The newly recruited 10+ 2 lecturers in school education department have said they are without salaries from past four months.

They said the delay in release of their salary was due to indecisiveness of J&K government about the pattern for release of their salaries.

“In October this year J&K cabinet took a decision that newly recruited lecturers will be provided full salary instead of basic pay of Rs 15000 for first five years of their services but the order is yet to be implemented on grounds,” a group of lecturers said.

It may be recalled that education minister earlier also announced that the newly recruited 10+2 lecturers will now draw full salary instead of consolidated Rs 15000 for the first five years of their services.

“All the 10+2 lecturers recruited from the month of March this year will draw full salary like employees of the other departments. The decision has been approved by state cabinet recently,” Bukhari had said.

Interestingly, according to education minister the decision was modified after the personal intervention of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

Also the cabinet had modified the rule 9 and rule 10 of SRO 202 to decide for releasing full salary of these lecturers.

“The cabinet discussed the appointments at gazetted level made in the school education department in terms of SRO 202 of 2015 and decided that full salary along with allowance shall be payable to these appointees in relaxation of Rule 9 and 10 of the aforesaid SRO with immediate effect,” reads the official memo signed by chief secretary B B Vyas.

However, the newly recruited lecturers said neither they were getting consolidated salary nor the full salary given the indecisiveness of government.

“Our DDOs are not clear about the issue. They claim that they have not received any official order from government for releasing  full salary of newly appointed lecturers,” the lecturers said.

Meanwhile, an official in school education department said the file was sent to finance department to release formal order in this regard. “But the file is pending there for some formalities to be completed,” the official said.

Secretary school education department Farooq Ahmad Shah meanwhile said the finance department has to fulfil some formalities to makr changes in the release of salary for these lecturers.

The file is under process in finance department and will be finalized in near future. I appeal lecturers to have patience,” he said.
