Kishtwar Chopper Crash Update: Man dies of injuries
A technician who was on board in the army chopper with the two pilots which crashed and fell near the banks of Marua river in Kishtwar, has succumbed to his injuries on Thursday in Command Hospital Udhampur, where he reportedly was airlifted with a wounded pilot, after the helicopter crash.
Earlier in the day it was reported that an Army ALH Dhruv Helicopter crashed in Kishtwar and fell near the bank of Kisthwar’s Marua river, following which pilots and an army technician on board suffered injuries.
After the mishap a rescue operation was launched by the locals and the authorities to save the victims.
Later, Army rescue teams also reached at the crash scene and taking cognizance of the victims airlifted the critically hurt pilot and the technician, but sadly the latter succumbed to his wounds in the hospital.
As per army inputs, the pilots had reported a technical fault to the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) and proceeded for a precautionary landing. Due to the undulating ground, undergrowth and unprepared landing area, the helicopter apparently made a hard landing
