Guidelines for Online Exam : Distance Education, Kashmir University

In view of COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent implementation of StandardOperating Procedures (SOP’s)issued by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India vide No.F16-16/2020-UIA, dated 6thJuly 2020 and UGC guidelines for conducting examinations dated 29/04/2020 and revised guidelines titled “UGC Revised Guidelines on Examinations and Academic Calendar for Universities in view of COVID-19Pandemic”, dated 6thJuly 2020, the University of Kashmir in adherence to these guidelines framed a comprehensive guideline titled “Mode and Method of Examination,Guideline-2020”where in all the departments of university are entrusted to conduct the external examinations in general and terminal/end semester examinations in particular in order to save the carrier of thousands of students in these unprecedented times. After threadbare discussion, the Departmental Committee of Directorate of Distance Education at its meeting held on 8thJune, 2020, unanimously decided to conduct the pending and due examination of MA/ M. Sc. / M. Com,/ PG Diplomas/ LL B (Acad) / Diploma/ Certificate Courses / backlog/ mercy chance/ division improvement candidates through online mode in adherence to the SOP’s issued from time to time

Presently this Directorate has initiated to conduct the examination of mercy chance and backlog candidates of LL B (Academics) through ONLINE, and date sheet to this effect is issued on 06/09/2020. Hence, the following guidelines have been drafted in consonance with UGC

Guidelines and candidates are advised to read and make them understand properly:

There shall be online examination in which only those mercy chance and backlog candidates of LL B(Academics) can participate who have submitted their examination form and deposited prescribed fee well in time.

Pattern of Question Paper to be asked shall be based on Multiple Choice Question’s(MCQ’s)wherein a candidate shall be required to tickthe most appropriate one.

Time duration shall be one hour for each course.

The number of MCQ’s to be asked shall be 40 for all courses.

Examinees shall be required to honor the secrecy and sanctity of examination at all stages.

The request of missed candidates for examination can be entertained only after ascertaining the genuineness of cases
