General Merit List of Youth Services and Sports Department J&K

General Merit List of provisionally eligible candidates (Year-Wise) who have applied for appointment of Outstanding Sports Persons in terms of J&K (Appointment of Outstanding Sports Persons) Rules, 2022 issued vide S.O. 12 of 2022 read with S.O. 412 of 2023.

Notification No. 01-JK (YSS) of 2024 Dated:19.07.2024

Whereas, J&K (appointment of outstanding sports persons) Rules, 2022 were notified vide S.O. 12 of 2022 dated 6.1.2022; and

Whereas, in pursuance to the above S.O., Youth Services & Sports Department invited applications for the quota of calendar year 2014 to 2021 for appointment of outstanding sports persons in the Government services vide No. YSS-Adm/219-2021-08-YS&S dated 17.01.2022. In pursuance to the said Advertisement Notification, 486 application forms were received; and

Whereas, in the meantime, S.O. 412 dated 02.08.2023 was notified by virtue of which certain amendments were carried in S.O. 12 of 2023 and pursuant to this, Department of Youth Services and Sports issued revised short Advertisement Notice vide No. YSS-Adm/219-2021-08-YS&S dated 12.10.2023; and

Whereas, in pursuance of notification No. YSS-Adm/219-2021-08-YS&S dated 12.10.2023, 99 applications were received by the Department of Youth Services and Sports thereby the totaling to 585 application forms (in which 32 application forms were repeated); and

Whereas, General Administration Department vide Government Order No. 1247-JK(GAD) of 2023 dated 14-10-2023 constituted a committee to scrutinize the applications forms received in the Youth Services and Sports Department and prepare select/ merit list as per the provisions of S.O 12 of 2022 read with S.O 412 of 2023; and

Whereas, the scrutiny committee after scrutinizing the application forms found 334 candidates provisionally eligible in terms of the conditions stipulated in the Advertisement Notification/s and Rules in this regard; and

Whereas, based upon the scrutiny of application form, General Merit List of eligible candidates has been drawn upstrictly in accordance with the criteria prescribed in the relevant rules and the same was placed before the Selection Committee in its meeting dated 05.07.2024, constituted in terms of provisions of S.O. 12 of 2022; and

Whereas, the Selection Committee in its meeting dated 05.07.2024 decided to place the General Merit List, year-wise of eligible candidates in the public domain for inviting of objections.

Now in view of the above, General Merit List of provisionally eligible candidates, year-wise, is hereby published in the public domain as “ANNEXURE-A” for inviting objections, if any, from the interested candidate. The objections, if any, shall be submitted either personally in the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Civil Secretariat, Jammu/ Srinagar or through the email ([email protected]) within a period of 15 days from the date of publication of this notification/list.

The objections so received shall be disposed of in accordance with the rules and thereafter provisional selection list of the eligible candidates shall be drawn separately as per the availability of posts. Merely figuring in the General Merit List shall not confer any right upon the candidate to be selected under these rules.
