Publication of Draft Electoral Roll Extract for General Election to Assembly Election of UT of Jammu and Kashmir, 2024

Whereas, the Election Commission of India Vide Notification No-3/AK-LA/2024 Dated 22-08-2024, has notified the scheme for Kashmiri Migrants to Vote in person at notified Special Polling Stations and voting by means of postal ballots pertaining to the General Election to Assembly Constituencies falling in Kashmir Province of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir; and

Whereas. as per the notified scheme 19 Special Polling Stations in Jammu are to be mapped to the Camps/Zones Individually, ensuring that every Zone has atleast one special polling station and in case there are multiple polling stations in one Zone, the Zonal Officer shall earmark the intra-zonal jurisdiction for each such polling station keeping in mind the distance/ease of approach for each set of elector’s; and Whereas the mapping of Zones/Camps with Special Polling Stations for Jammu is detailed as under.-

Whereas, a draft mapping based on the records available in the office of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) J&K viz-a-viz the basic electoral rolls has been done and based on the same, draft electoral roll extracts without photograph have been prepared for the respective Zone/Special Polling Stations as stipulated in the Election Commission of India Notification dated 22-08-2024, and annexed to this notification as Annexure-A; and

Whereas, copies of this notification along with annexures has been placed at all Zonal offices, as well as the office of Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants), J&K, and also made available on the website www.jkmigrantrehetnic.in;

Now, therefore, all the Electors figuring in the Draft Electoral Roll extract as well as those whose name does not figure in the draft electoral roll extract are hereby informed to approach Office of the Assistant Returning Officer, Migrants, Jammu or their respective Zonal Officers (Nodal Officers)/Booth Level Officers (BLO’s) contact numbers of whom are in the Table-2 of this notification. Also in case any elector has claim regarding:

(1) S(he) wishes to opt for voting through postal ballot

(2) S(he) wishes to vote at original polling station in Kashmir valley
