Kashmir News: Police Arrest Woman With Cannabis Powder In J&K Anantnag

Police on Monday said that it has arrested a woman drug peddler along with cannabis powder in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The accused woman has been identified as Gulshana wife of Mohammad Yousuf Ganai a resident of Takiya Maksood Shah Bijbehara, and 8 Kg cannabis powdery substance were recovered from her possession.

The seizure was made during a naka (checkpoint) operation conducted by the Police team in the area, police said.

Subsequently, a case has been registered under FIR No. 226/2024, U/S 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Bijbehara.

Investigation is ongoing, and further legal proceedings will follow, they added.
