Jammu Crime Branch arrests four persons in land grabbing case
The Jammu Crime Branch on Monday arrested four persons, including former Tehsildar and a retired Girdawar, in the land grabbing case and filed chargesheet in the court for judicial determination.
An official spokesman said that a written complaint lodged by Koushalaya Devi, resident of Dangray village of R S Pura Tehsil in Jammu and duly endorsed by Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu, was received in Crime Branch wherein the complainant had alleged that her Late husband being a displaced person of 1947 was allotted land measuring 72 kanals and 4 marlas at village Dangray R S Pura, now Suchetgarh, Jammu.
However, the spokesman said, that the accused and his father in connivance with the revenue officials got the land transferred and mutated in their favour vide mutation of in-heritance on the basis of fake and forged Adoption Deed duly registered before the court showing the accused as the adopted son of the complainant and her husband, whereas the complainant neither appeared before any revenue officer nor before the court for the mutation/registration of the land for the adoption deed.
On receiving the complaint, he said that a preliminary verification was conducted, FIR was lodged and investigation was started.
Investigation was conducted by an experienced officer of the rank of Deputy SP who proved the offences of cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy against eight accused, of whom four were arrested, two were bailed out, two are no more and presented the Challan.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh confirmed that investigation of case was completed, four accused arrested and chargesheet against eight accused filed in the Ld. Court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Jammu for judicial determination.
