Eligibility Criteria :
Candidates must meticulously verify their eligibility before heading to the recruitment rally. The criteria regarding educational qualifications, age, and physical standards are stringent and mandatory.
Educational Qualification :
10+2 / Intermediate: Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects from an Education Board recognized by Central/State/UT, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Vocational Course: Passed a two-year Vocational Course from an Education Board recognized by Central/State/UT, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course).
Diploma Course: Passed a three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a Central, State, or UT-recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Diploma Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in the Diploma Course).
Age Limit
Candidates must be born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2008 (both dates inclusive).
The upper age limit at the date of enrolment must be 21 years.
Mandatory Medical and Physical Standards
Height:
Male: Minimum 152 cms.
Female: Minimum 152 cms. (Relaxation for North East or hilly regions of Uttarakhand to 147 cms, and for Lakshadweep to 150 cms).
Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
Chest (for Males): Minimum chest circumference of 77 cms with a minimum expansion of 05 cms.
Hearing: Normal hearing, able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
Dental: Healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.
Visual Acuity: 6/12 in each eye, correctable to 6/6 in each eye.
IAF Agniveer Vayu Salary and Benefits (2025)
The Agniveer Vayu salary structure is designed to be attractive and comprehensive. The package goes beyond the in-hand salary, encompassing allowances and a significant terminal benefit. For the first year, the customized package is ₹30,000/- per month. Of this, ₹21,000/- will be the in-hand component, and the remaining 30% (₹9,000/-) will be contributed to the Agniveer Corpus Fund. The Government of India will make a matching contribution to this fund.

Upon completion of four years, Agniveers will receive a one-time “Seva Nidhi” package of approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (plus interest). This amount will be tax-free. In addition to the salary, Agniveers are entitled to Risk and Hardship allowances, Dress and Travel allowances, Ration, Accommodation, and Leave Travel Concession (LTC). They will also be covered by a non-contributory Life Insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs.
Selection Process Explained :
The selection process is rigorous and designed to test both physical and mental capabilities. It is conducted in a sequence, and candidates must clear each stage to proceed to the next.
Stage 1: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
This is the initial test to assess the physical endurance of the candidates.
1.6 Km Run:
Males: To be completed within 7 minutes.
Females: To be completed within 8 minutes.
PFT-II (after a 10-minute break):
Males: 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups, and 20 Squats within the stipulated time.
Females: 10 Sit-ups and 15 Squats within the stipulated time.
Stage 2: Written Test
Candidates who qualify the PFT will undertake a written test on the same day.
The test will be objective (OMR-based) and bilingual (English & Hindi), except for the English paper.
Duration: 45 minutes.
Subjects: English (20 questions) and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA) (30 questions).
Marking Scheme: 1 mark for a correct answer, 0 for no attempt, and a negative marking of 0.25 marks for a wrong answer.
Stage 3: Adaptability Test-I & II
Adaptability Test-I: An objective type written test to assess the candidate’s suitability for the IAF’s diverse operational environments.
Adaptability Test-II: This test evaluates the candidate’s ability to adapt to the military way of life and the environment of the Indian Air Force.
Stage 4: Medical Examination
Candidates who clear all the above stages will undergo a detailed medical examination by the Air Force Medical Team. This will include baseline investigations like blood tests, urine tests, X-rays, and other necessary checks.

General Awareness :
General Science, Civics, Geography, Current Events, History, Basic Computer Operations.
How to Apply : Step-by-Step Guide for the Rally
The application process for this recruitment is by appearing directly at the rally venue. There is no online application form to be filled out beforehand.
Check Eligibility: Carefully read the official notification and ensure you meet all the eligibility criteria.
Gather Documents: Arrange all the required original documents along with four self-attested photocopies. This is the most critical step.
