Advertisement Notice for Contractual Assistant Professor(s)
Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for engagement of Assistant Professor(s) on contractual basis for the academic arrangement in the following Department:
Department : Computer Science
Eligibility :
(i) A Master‘s degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer) or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Applications from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be.
Note :
NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET
Emoluments :
For candidates having:
❖ PG (excluding Arch) : Rs. 45,000/- per month
❖ NET/SET/GATE : Rs. 48,000/- per month
❖ Ph. D. : Rs. 50,000/- per month
❖ NET/SET/GATE and Ph.D. : Rs. 50,000/- per month
How to Apply :
Eligible candidates shall apply online and pay the requisite fee of Rs 300/- (non-refundable) and thereafter submit the hard copy of the application form along with self-attested copies of the documents and certificates in the office of Head of the Department on any working day by or before the last date for submission.
The candidature of those who fail to submit the hardcopies shall not be considered.

Last date of submission of online application : 18-08-2025 (Monday) Up to 04:30 pm
Last date of submission of hard copy of the form : 19-08-2025 (Tuesday)
Terms and Conditions :
a) The applications shall have to be submitted through the University portal www.iust.ac.in under the specified tab.
b) Candidates will have to produce original documents relating to their qualification, experience etc. at the time
of appearing in the interview.
c) No TA/DA shall be paid to candidates for appearing in the interview.
d) The time taken by candidates to acquire PG / M.Phil and /or Ph.D degree shall not be considered as teaching /research experience. The period of active service spent on pursuing Research Degree simultaneously with teaching assignment without taking any kind of leave (Part time), shall be counted as teaching experience subject to the submission of certificate to this effect issued by the concerned employer.
e) Qualifications / Experiences shall be counted as on the last date of submission of the application forms.
f) Any publications in predatory / dubious journals or presentations in predatory / dubious conferences shall not be considered for academic credit for selection & confirmation. With effect from 14-06-2019, research publications from journals indexed in UGC-CARE List only would be considered for all academic purposes.
g) An undertaking is to be given by the candidate stating that ‘the publications submitted by him / her are free from any plagiarism and if any plagiarism is found later, his / her candidature/selection shall stand rejected’.
h) In case of any disputes /suites or legal proceedings against the University, the jurisdiction shall be confined to the court of Srinagar only.
i) The engagement of the recommended candidates shall be subject to the outcome of the writ petition(s) (if any) pending in the Hon’ble Courts of J&K.
j) Eligible candidates will be informed about the date and place of interview through University website/e- mail whichever deemed suitable by the University and shall not take any responsibility for non-receipt or delayed receipt of the intimation by a candidate.
k) Candidates who have been awarded postgraduate/Ph. D degree from Foreign University should enclose Equivalence Certificate” issued by the Association of Indian Universities(AIU), New Delhi without which their candidature will not be considered, and application form will be rejected.
l) All relevant information /updates shall be uploaded on University website www.iust.ac.in. The candidates are advised to remain in touch with University website and notifying the same in newspapers shall not be obligatory on University part.
m) The University reserves the right to alter/insert any corrections/additions in the advertisement/website in the event of any typographical error etc. before the last date prescribed for the receipt of applications, for which the candidates are advised to remain in touch with the official website: www.iust.ac.im.
n) The University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate(s) at any stage in the process of selection in case any inadvertent mistake is detected even after the issue of appointment letter.
o) The University reserves the right to terminate the contract mid-way in view of unsatisfactory performance of the candidate by giving one-month notice or one-month salary in lieu of notice.
p) The candidate who intends to resign shall have to submit one-month notice in advance or one-month salary in lieu of notice.
