Candidates who have pursued professional courses through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are not eligible. It is a pre-requisite that prescribed qualifications are completed within the stipulated duration of the course as prescribed by the university, and CGPA/percentage must meet ISRO/DOS norms without conversion beyond what is stated.

What is the Salary for ISRO SAC Scientist/ Engineer Posts?
Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ (Post Codes 01-03): Pay Level 11 in the Pay Matrix (₹67,100–₹2,08,700).
Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ (Post Codes 04-16): Pay Level 10 in the Pay Matrix (₹56,100–₹1,77,500).
In addition, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Transport Allowance are payable as per extant rules.
Employees will be governed by the National Pension System/Unified Pension Scheme.
Other admissible benefits as per DOS/Central Government orders include medical facilities for self and dependents, subsidised canteen, quarters facility in lieu of HRA, Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, House Building Advance etc.

Application Fee :
There is no application fee for the post of Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ (Post Codes 01-03).
For all applicants for other posts, an application fee of ₹750/- has to be paid uniformly at the initial stage.
Refund of application fee is available only to candidates who appear in the written test: full refund for candidates exempted from fee (women, SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen), and refund of ₹500 (after deducting ₹250 as application fee) for other candidates.
Candidates must provide correct bank account details for receipt of refund; SAC (ISRO) will not be responsible for non-receipt due to incorrect details.
Application fee must be paid only through the Bharatkosh payment portal using permitted modes such as net banking, UPI, credit/debit cards; payment by cash, cheque, draft, money order, IPO, etc. is not allowed.

What is the Selection Process for ISRO SAC Jobs?
For Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ (Post Codes 01-03): Initial screening based on online applications through ISRO Live Register portal to shortlist candidates for interview; prescribed qualifications are minimum requirements and do not automatically ensure eligibility; final selection based on performance in interview only.
For Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ (Post Codes 04-16): Two level recruitment process consisting of a Written Test and a Personal Interview.
Written Test pattern includes Part-A (Area/Discipline Specific MCQs), Part-B (Aptitude/Ability MCQs) for all relevant post codes, and Part-C (Descriptive technical questions) additionally for M.E./M.Tech-based recruitment (Post Codes 04-11), with specified duration, marks, and negative marking rules.
Candidates are shortlisted for Interview in ratio 1:5 based on Written Test performance, with a minimum of 10 candidates; for reserved vacancies, candidates are shortlisted in 1:5 ratio independently of UR shortlisting.
Qualifying criteria specify minimum percentage marks in each part of the Written Test and aggregate marks in the Interview, with different thresholds for UR and reserved candidates as given in the advertisement.
For final panel generation for Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’, 50% weightage is given to Written Test marks and 50% to Interview marks.
Tie-breaking in panel for Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ posts uses, in order, marks in Written Test, marks in essential qualification, and date of birth (older candidates placed higher).

Only online applications will be entertained; physical applications will not be accepted. Posts are temporary but likely to continue; number of vacancies is provisional and may change depending on organisational requirements.
ISRO/DOS/Centres/Autonomous Bodies reserve the right to cancel recruitment at any stage, and to post candidates to any ISRO Centre/Unit situated anywhere in India as and when required.
Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. No interim correspondence/phone calls will be entertained regarding details already provided in the advertisement.
Candidates must ensure they fulfil eligibility criteria and comply with instructions in the advertisement and application form; any incorrect information at any stage will lead to cancellation of candidature.
Vacancies for Computer Science Engineering under Post Code 07 are for ISRO Centres/Units, while vacancy under Post Code 08 is for NESAC (Autonomous body under DOS); separate applications and fee payment are required if candidates apply for both.
Candidates can apply for more than one post; SAC reserves the right to conduct examination for two or more posts simultaneously as per administrative exigency; candidates applying for multiple posts should select the same city for the written test.

ISRO Live Register portal at https://www.isro.gov.in (Career tab) must be used for registration/update for Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ posts.
Application once submitted online cannot be edited. After submission and successful payment, withdrawal is not permitted, and no refund will be granted on grounds of withdrawal.
PwBD candidates must produce original disability certificate in prescribed format, issued by a duly constituted Medical Board, indicating at least 40% benchmark disability, in accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

How to Apply for ISRO SAC Scientist/ Engineer Posts 2026?
Applications will be received online only through ISRO Live Register portal and SAC’s recruitment portal. Candidates must register or update their registration in ISRO’s Live Register portal at https://www.isro.gov.in (Career tab) on or before 12.02.2026 (1700 hrs).
For online registration and application, the link will be hosted on SAC website https://www.sac.gov.in or https://careers.sac.gov.in from 23.01.2026 (1000 hrs) to 12.02.2026 (1700 hrs.); only online mode of applications will be accepted.
Upon online registration, an online Registration Number will be generated, which must be carefully preserved for future reference. After registration, candidates must proceed to complete the online application, verify all details, and then submit.
Applicants must provide a valid and correct e-mail ID in the online application compulsorily, as e-Admit Cards for Written Test/Personal Interview will be sent only through e-mail; no separate hard copy will be sent.
Candidates must upload clear images/scanned copies of their recent colour passport size photograph (not older than 6 months), signature, essential/pre-requisite qualification certificates, and applicable caste/PwBD/ESM certificates in specified formats and sizes, failing which their applications will be rejected.
Photograph must be in .jpg/.jpeg format (maximum 1MB, 500×500 pixels), signature in .jpg/.jpeg format (maximum 1MB, 700×200 pixels), and certificates in .pdf format (maximum 1MB). Selfies, blurred photos, black and white photos, or unclear signatures will lead to rejection.
After filling all details and uploading documents, candidates will be redirected to Bharatkosh payment portal for application fee payment, where they must select a payment aggregator and mode (net banking, UPI, credit/debit card), complete payment, and retain SMS/email confirmation.
In case payment is debited but confirmation is not received, candidates are advised to wait 24 hours before initiating a new transaction. All applicable service charges for payment of application fee are to be borne by the applicant.
During online application, candidates must choose a city for written examination from the list of eighteen cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi and Thiruvananthapuram. SAC reserves the right to conduct examination only in Ahmedabad or in other city/cities as feasible.
Candidates are advised to bring, on the day of Written Test, a valid Government-issued photo ID in original and printed copy of the e-Admit Card sent to their email. They should also keep a printout/screenshot of the online application summary for future reference, as the site will not remain open for printing after 1700 hours of 12.02.2026.
