JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 08-05-2026
From 06-05-2026, 1600 hrs to 07-05-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwar Pather, in addition to the breakdown of 02 HMVs at Marog and Nachlana–Banihal.
Owing to ongoing movement of 05 nomadic herds, traffic on the single-lane stretch between Marog to Kishtwar Pather is likely to slow down. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking.
Passengers / LMV operators
Passengers travelling towards/ from Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel shall be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/ landslides, movement of nomads towards valley as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal, which may cause inconvenience to commuters.
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs, Passenger/HPVs/Private Cars/HMVs (Goods Carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) via from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, avoid rash driving, will cause congestion.

SFs/Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) via Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. They shall move after confirming the status from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
As per order issued by the SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/C/2026-27/149-58 dated 05-05-2026 and the SDM Kokernag vide No. SDMKNGR/26-27/201-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from road maintenance agencies (NHDCL) only LMVs/Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed to ply from Kishtwar towards Srinagar via Sinthan Top. These vehicles shall be allowed from PR Ramban between 0830 hrs to 1530 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing. TCU Jammu (Ramban) TCU Srinagar will be concerned about the cut-off timings.
SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed to ply from Kargil towards Srinagar via Sonamarg–Gumri road. In view of apprehension of avalanches along the Zoji La axis, these vehicles shall be allowed from early morning. Road maintenance agencies (BRO) shall ensure proper clearance of snow and maintenance agencies and no vehicle shall be allowed after 1030 hrs. Motorists are advised to carry anti-skid chain along with proper winter clothing. TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut-off timings.
Mughal Road
As per the orders issued by the District Magistrate, Shopian vide No. DM/ADMSP/25-26/2265 dated 22-04-2026 and the District Magistrate, Poonch vide No. DM/P/376-01/2026 dated 22-04-2026, and subject to fair weather and good road conditions, vehicular movement (LMVs followed by HMVs up to six tyres only) shall be allowed on Mughal Road from both sides i.e., from Poonch towards Shopian and vice-versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Chandimarh (Bafliaz) towards Shopian between 0900 hrs and 1700 hrs, and from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 1100 hrs and 1700 hrs, after obtaining clearance from the road maintenance agencies (GREF). No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings. TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned about the cut-off timings.
