JKPSC Instructions for Posts in JK Home Department
JKPSC has issued important instructions for candidates appearing in the Prosecuting Officer (Preliminary) Examination in J&K Home Department. The exam will be held on 31 May 2026 (Sunday) in two sessions: Morning Session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and Afternoon Session from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM.
Admit cards will be available from 18 May 2026 on the official JKPSC website. Candidates have to log in using their User ID and Password, click on the Admit Card menu, download the admit card and take a printout. Candidates unable to download the admit card can contact the Commission at least two days before the examination with proof of online application and fee payment.
Candidates are advised to reach the examination venue at least one and a half hours before the morning session i.e. by 08:30 AM and one hour before the afternoon session i.e. by 01:00 PM. Entry to the examination centre will close 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam.
Candidates must carry their admit card along with a valid photo identity proof such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License or Passport. Mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, headphones, Bluetooth devices and any unauthorized material are strictly prohibited inside the examination centre.
The examination will be objective type with four options for each question. Candidates must use only blue or black ball point pen to darken the correct option on the OMR sheet. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer, while no penalty will be imposed for unanswered questions.
Candidates are also advised to bring their own transparent pouch, transparent clipboard/cardboard and pen. They will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before completion of the full exam duration.
