JKPSC Important Notice
JKPSC has issued an important notice regarding the facility of Scribe and Compensatory Time for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs) appearing in the Prosecuting Officer (Preliminary) Examination 2026 scheduled on 31 May 2026 in two sessions from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM.
The Commission stated that the facility of compensatory time and/or scribe will be provided to PwBD candidates as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, especially for candidates having limitation in writing speed.
Candidates belonging to the categories of Blindness, Locomotor Disability (both arms affected) and Cerebral Palsy can avail the facility of a scribe if they desire.
Eligible PwBD candidates will also get compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination, subject to certification by the Standing Medical Board or Medical Board constituted by the Government under JKPSC Conduct of Examination Rules, 2022.
For other categories of benchmark disabilities, the facility of scribe and compensatory time will be allowed only after submission of a medical certificate confirming physical limitation in writing. The certificate must be issued by the Chief Medical Officer, Civil Surgeon or Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care Institution as per Annexure-A.
Documents required to be submitted to the Controller of Examinations on or before 22 May 2026 are:
Application on plain paper
Self-attested PwD certificate
Certificate regarding physical limitation to write (Annexure-A)
Letter of Undertaking for using scribe (to be provided by the Commission)
Admit Card/Roll Number and Contact Number
The notice also states that candidature will remain provisional until verification of documents and candidates making fraudulent PwD claims will be debarred from the examination.
Annexure-A attached with the notice contains the prescribed medical certificate format for candidates seeking the scribe facility due to writing limitations.
