Preventive Measures and Safety Guidelines for Heat Wave Conditions in Schools
In view of the prevailing heat wave conditions and rising temperatures, all Heads of Government and Private Educational Institutions are hereby directed to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of students and staff by strictly implementing the following preventive measures with immediate effect:
Morning assemblies shall be kept short and conducted in shaded or well-ventilated areas.
Students shall be advised to carry sufficient drinking water bottles to school daily.
Safe and clean drinking water facilities must be ensured in all schools at all times.
Outdoor activities, sports, and exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours shall be avoided.

Classrooms must be properly ventilated, and fans/electricity facilities should remain functional.
Teachers shall make students aware of symptoms of heat-related illnesses such as dehydration, dizziness, headache, excessive sweating, and heat stroke.
In case any student feels unwell due to heat, immediate first aid and medical attention shall be provided.

Schools shall ensure that students are not detained unnecessarily after school hours.
Heads of institutions shall remain vigilant and take all necessary local measures for student safety.
All Heads of the Institutions are directed to comply with these instructions in letter and spirit. Any negligence in implementation shall be viewed seriously.
