MeT Predicts Light Rain, Thunderstorms & Gusty Winds in J&K
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has predicted partly to generally cloudy weather across Jammu and Kashmir on May 20 and 21, with spells of light rain, thundershowers, gusty winds and hailstorms expected at scattered to many places, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours.
As per the forecast, generally dry weather is likely from May 22 to 25 during the forenoon, while brief showers may occur at isolated to scattered locations during the afternoon and late afternoon hours.
The weather department said hot and dry conditions are expected from May 26 to 28. From May 29 to 31, partly to generally cloudy conditions with light rain or thundershowers at isolated places are likely, mainly during the afternoon and late afternoon periods.

In its advisory, the MET Centre warned of the possibility of thunder, lightning, hailstorms and gusty winds reaching 40–50 kmph, with gusts exceeding 60 kmph at a few places across both Kashmir and Jammu divisions on May 20 and 21.

It also forecast heatwave conditions at isolated places in the Jammu division on May 20.
