Advertisement Notice for the Position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for 01 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the DST-SHRI funded research project titled:
“Promotion of Endangered Dialects of Erstwhile Doda District with the Help of AI-based Approaches.”

Project Duration
03 Years
(Initial appointment for 01 year, extendable based on candidate performance and project requirements.)
Emoluments
As per DST rules.
Essential Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in English with at least 55% marks and NET/SLET qualified, OR
- Master’s Degree in Sociology with at least 55% marks, NET/SLET qualified, and experience in sociolinguistic research/work related to dialects, language communities, or cultural practices of the erstwhile Doda District.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in phonetic transcription.
- Ability to record, classify, and transcribe oral data from local speakers.
- Experience in dialect documentation.
- Familiarity with Pahari dialects.
- Willingness to live in and visit remote areas for fieldwork.
- Competence in creating audio-visual archives.
- Knowledge of ELAN, PRAAT, or other annotation tools.
Age Limit
Maximum 28 years as on the last date of application.
Age relaxation of 5 years is available for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/OBC candidates.
