JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 6th June 2026

Traffic Movement Update

From 04-06-2026 (1600 hrs) to 05-06-2026 (1600 hrs), slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwari Pathar, in addition to breakdown of an HM vehicle on Kishtwar Pathar.

Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to apprehension of shooting stones/landslides. Movement of nomads towards the valley and ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal may also cause inconvenience.

NH-44 (NHW) :

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions:

LMVs/Passenger/HPSVs/Private Cars/MVs (Goods carriers) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44).

Traffic shall be regulated in a coordinated manner.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; overtaking and wrong lane driving may cause congestion.

 

Security Forces (SFs) Convoy Movement

Subject to weather and road conditions, SF vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar NHW).

Movement shall take place only after confirming road status from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244

As per orders issued by SDM Chatroo:

Subject to weather and road conditions, after receiving a green signal from road maintenance agencies (NHIDCL), LMVs/Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides.

Traffic will be regulated between PP Parana and Daksum (0900 hrs to 1600 hrs).

Only LMVs and HPSVs (up to 30 passengers) shall be allowed.

No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing.

TCU Jammu/Ramban/TCU Srinagar will update status accordingly.

SSG Road 

As per orders issued by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir:

Subject to weather and road conditions, LMVs shall be allowed from both sides on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road.

Traffic will move from Sonamarg towards Kargil (0600 hrs onwards) after green signal from maintenance agencies.

HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil between 1200 hrs to 1500 hrs only.

No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off time.

TCU Srinagar will update the status.

 

Mughal Road

As per orders issued by District Magistrate, Shopian:

Subject to weather and road conditions, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed on Mughal Road (Shopian–Poonch).

Movement allowed from both sides after clearance from road maintenance agencies (GREF).

No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing.

TCU Srinagar shall update accordingly.
