JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 20th June 2026
NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway)
From 18-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 19-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwar Pather, along with the breakdown of an HMV at Nachilana.
Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer travel on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides and ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal, which may cause inconvenience to commuters.
NH-44 Traffic Movement
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions:
LMVs, Passenger Vehicles, Private Cars and HMVs (Goods Carriers) shall be allowed to ply from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44), i.e., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline. Overtaking and wrong-lane driving may cause congestion.
TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.
Security Forces Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44), i.e., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
Movement shall begin after confirmation of NHW status from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
As per orders issued by:

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, and after receiving a green signal from road maintenance agencies (NHIDCL):
LMVs, Passenger Vehicles and Private Cars shall be allowed to ply from both sides on Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road.
Vehicles will be allowed from PP Parana and Daksum between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs.
HMVs up to six tyres and HPSVs (seating capacity up to 30 passengers only) shall be allowed from Kishtwar towards Srinagar.
These vehicles shall move from PP Parana between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs.
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing.
TCU Jammu/Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned regarding cut-off timings.
SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road)
As per order issued by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir vide No. Div Com/Dev/100/2026/4392-4410 dated 14-05-2026:
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
LMVs shall be allowed to ply from both sides on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road, i.e., Srinagar towards Kargil and vice versa.
Vehicles shall be allowed from:
Sonamarg towards Kargil
Minamarg towards Srinagar
only after receiving a green signal from road maintenance agencies, up to 1300 hrs.
HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil between 1200 hrs and 1700 hrs.
No vehicle shall be allowed after 1700 hrs.
Motorists are advised to carry and use anti-skid chains for better grip on slippery roads.
TCU Srinagar shall plan Security Forces convoy movement in such a manner that civil traffic is not disturbed.
Mughal Road
As per orders issued by:
District Magistrate, Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM-PS/25-26/276-85 dated 22-04-2026
District Magistrate, Poonch vide No. DMP/376-01 dated 22-04-2026
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
Vehicular movement of LMVs followed by HMVs up to six tyres only shall be allowed on Mughal Road from both sides, i.e., Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa.
Movement timings :
Chandimarh (Gali/Mughal) towards Shopian: 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs
Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch: 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs
Vehicles will be allowed after clearance from the road maintenance agency (GREF).
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings.
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding cut-off timings.
