JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 2nd July 2026
Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K has issued an advisory regarding the regulation of traffic movement on various routes in Jammu & Kashmir.
General Traffic Advisory
From 01-07-2026, traffic movement on different National Highways and major roads will be regulated as per the issued traffic plan.
Commuters are advised to follow traffic instructions, avoid unnecessary travel during restricted hours and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed on duty.
Drivers should carry valid documents and strictly follow lane discipline and traffic rules.
Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44)
Traffic movement on NH-44 shall remain regulated due to ongoing road maintenance and movement of essential vehicles.
Passenger vehicles, private cars and other vehicles shall be allowed as per the timings and directions issued by Traffic Police.
Travellers are advised to check the latest traffic updates before starting their journey.
Traffic Restrictions / Cut-Off Timings for Heavy Motor Vehicles
Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) shall be regulated at different points to ensure smooth traffic movement.
Important points include:
Vehicles shall be allowed only as per the prescribed timings.
No vehicle shall be permitted after the cut-off timings at designated points.
Traffic movement may be stopped temporarily due to road conditions, weather, maintenance work or security requirements.
Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026
Traffic arrangements have been made in view of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
Movement of Yatra convoys and other vehicles shall be regulated as per the issued advisory.
Commuters are advised to avoid routes affected by Yatra movement and follow directions of traffic officials.
Traffic Advisory for Srinagar–Jammu Route
Passenger vehicles and private cars shall be regulated on NH-44.
Traffic movement shall remain subject to road conditions and clearance from concerned authorities.
Drivers are advised to avoid overtaking and maintain safe distance.
Mughal Road / Alternative Routes
Traffic movement on Mughal Road and other alternate routes shall be regulated as per the directions issued by Traffic Police.
Only permitted vehicles shall be allowed during restricted periods.
