JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 4th July 2026
Traffic Advisory
From: 02-07-2026, 1600 hrs
To: 03-07-2026, 1200 hrs
During the last 24 hours, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to maintenance work between Marog and Mehad, in addition to the breakdown of an HM vehicle.
After assessing the latest traffic movement and local commuter requirements, passenger vehicle traffic will be allowed to ply on NH-44 in both directions.
Passenger/LMV operators are advised to prefer travel on Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the possibility of shooting stones, landslides, and ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal and on NH-144A. Such conditions may cause inconvenience to commuters.
Goods carriers (HMVs) operating from Jammu should ensure that they are released only after 0800 hrs or as advised by the Traffic Police Headquarters so that HMVs can be allowed to ply on alternate days only.
Fruit growers and load carriers (HMVs/LMVs) carrying fresh perishable items are advised to load and park their vehicles at the designated place and ensure sufficient fuel before undertaking the journey on Jammu–Srinagar NH-44.
Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary halts between Ramban and Banihal, especially near landslide and shooting stone-prone areas.
