JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 6th August 2026

From 05-08-2026 (08:00 hrs) to 06-08-2026 (08:00 hrs), due to the prevailing weather conditions and road situation, the following traffic advisory has been issued:

Traffic movement on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) shall be regulated subject to fair weather and good road conditions.

Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain or shooting stones.

Before starting the journey, passengers should confirm the status of the highway from the Traffic Control Units (TCUs).

Traffic Movement on Mughal Road

Traffic movement on Mughal Road (Buffliaz–Shopian) shall remain suspended due to damaged NHIDCL road at Peer Ki Gali.

Sinthan Road

Traffic movement on Sinthan Road shall remain closed due to damaged road stretches.

SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri)

Traffic movement on SSG Road shall remain closed due to maintenance work.

Passenger Vehicles

Passenger vehicles (LMVs) shall be allowed to travel on NH-44 subject to weather and road conditions.

Vehicles must follow lane discipline and Traffic Police instructions.

Overtaking is strictly prohibited.

HMVs / Load Carriers

Load carriers carrying essential commodities shall be permitted subject to traffic regulation and road conditions.

Fruit-loaded vehicles from Kashmir Valley shall be allowed as per traffic plan.

Jammu → Srinagar

LMV Passenger / Private Cars: Allowed.

HMVs carrying essential goods: Allowed as per traffic management plan.

Movement is subject to weather and road clearance.

Srinagar → Jammu

Passenger vehicles and essential HMVs will be regulated according to road conditions and traffic density.

Cut-off Timing (NH-44)

Nagrota (Jammu)

LMVs towards Srinagar: 08:00 AM to 12:00 Noon

HMVs towards Srinagar: As per Traffic Police regulation.

Qazigund

LMVs towards Jammu: 10:30 AM to 03:00 PM

HMVs towards Jammu: Subject to regulation by Traffic Police.

Advisory

Avoid travelling during heavy rainfall.

Do not park vehicles in shooting stone or landslide-prone areas.

Maintain adequate distance from the vehicle ahead.

Follow Traffic Police directions at all times.
