SKIMS Junior Resident Engagement 2026: Selection List Released

On the basis of merit obtained in the written examination and the current departmental requirements, sanction has been accorded for the engagement of candidates listed in Annexure-A as Stipendiary Junior Residents at SKIMS.
Tenure of Engagement
The engagement will initially be for a period of six months. The appointment is purely on a tenure basis and will not provide any right to claim continuation or extension beyond the stipulated period. On completion of the tenure, the engagement will automatically come to an end.
Monthly Stipend
The engaged Junior Residents will receive a monthly stipend of ₹43,700, along with usual admissible allowances as per the applicable rules and Government Order No. 41-SKIMS of 2018 dated May 19, 2018.
Hostel Facility
Due to limited availability of hostel accommodation on the SKIMS campus, the engaged candidates will not be eligible for hostel accommodation. They will also not be entitled to claim accommodation after joining the institution.
Restrictions on Private Practice
During the period of engagement, Junior Residents will not be permitted to undertake private practice, whether part-time or full-time, or engage in any other employment.
Working Hours and Duties
SKIMS administration reserves the right to modify working hours, shifts and duty timings according to administrative requirements and patient-care needs. The engaged candidates must follow the duty schedule applicable to their place of posting.
Security Deposit / First Month’s Salary
The first month’s salary will be retained as a security deposit and released only after completion of the tenure. If a candidate leaves the Junior Residency before completion of the tenure, they are required to provide one month’s advance notice. Failure to provide the required notice may result in forfeiture of the first month’s salary as a penalty.
Leave
During the six-month tenure, the Junior Resident will be entitled to 10 days of casual leave.

No other type of leave will be granted, and there will be no winter or summer vacation during the tenure.
Discipline and Dress Code
The engagee must maintain the prescribed dress code and discipline as mandated by SKIMS from time to time.
Affidavit and Verification Requirements
The selected candidates are required to submit an affidavit duly attested by a First Class Judicial Magistrate. The engagement is subject to satisfactory verification of character and antecedents and genuineness of qualification certificates. If an adverse report is received from CID Headquarters J&K, or if qualification certificates are found fake or forged, the engagement may be treated as cancelled ab initio, with legal action initiated wherever warranted. Salary will not be drawn or disbursed until satisfactory verification reports are received.
Strike, Protest and Misconduct
Candidates are required to maintain discipline and must not participate in any protest or strike within the SKIMS campus. Participation in such activities may be treated as gross misconduct, leading to disengagement without prior notice. Any violation of the prescribed terms and conditions may result in action under the applicable rules and law.
Joining Deadline
Candidates are required to complete all necessary formalities and report to the Academic Section, SKIMS to join their assignment within 5 days from the date of issuance of the engagement order.
Failure to join within the prescribed five-day period will result in forfeiture of the candidate’s right to engagement, and the engagement will be treated as cancelled ab initio without further notice. The vacant seat will then be offered to the next candidate in merit.
Candidates have also been advised to regularly check the SKIMS website for updates, as no separate individual communication will be issued.
