The University of Kashmir, Srinagar, through its Office of the Dean Academic Affairs, has issued an Advertisement Notice for the engagement of Contractual Assistant Professors for Academic Session 2026 at the Institute of Technology (IOT), Zakura.
Eligible candidates are invited to submit their applications online for the available position in the School of Engineering.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess:
B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech in a relevant branch with First Class in any of the two degrees, as per AICTE regulations dated 1 March 2019.
Ph.D. qualification is desirable.
Candidates holding a direct Ph.D. after B.E./B.Tech may also be considered eligible, provided the Ph.D. is in the relevant discipline and has been awarded by a recognized university following the prescribed registration, coursework and evaluation process under UGC regulations, or by an institute of national importance such as IITs/IISc/NITs recognized by the competent authority.
Such candidates should also have secured at least First Class at Bachelor’s level in Engineering/Technology.
Class-IV Recruitment in the District Judiciary, Srinagar
Alternatively, a Ph.D. from a recognized foreign university/institute may be considered if the institution has been ranked among the top 500 in the world according to any one of the following rankings:
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)
Times Higher Education (THE)
Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University
The qualification requirements are to be considered in accordance with the applicable UGC regulations dated 17 July 2018 and AICTE regulations.
Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹250 through the online mode only.
Terms and Conditions
The engagement will be made purely on a need basis for Academic Session 2026. The appointment will end at the conclusion of the academic session or when the position is filled on a substantive basis, whichever is earlier.
The selected candidates will not have any right to claim continuation or regularization on the basis of this engagement.
The wages/remuneration of the selected candidates will be fixed on the basis of the qualifications possessed by them as on the cut-off/last date for submission of applications.
Selected candidates will also be required to submit an undertaking duly sworn before a 1st Class Judicial Magistrate accepting the prescribed terms and conditions.
