The Central University of Jammu (CUJ) has invited applications for one post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the Indo-Swiss Joint Research Project titled “Ice nucleating particles and cloud condensation nuclei properties in the North-Western Himalayas (ICE-CRUNCH)”.
The project is funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) and is being carried out in collaboration with ETH Zurich, Switzerland. The selected JRF will get an opportunity to work on aerosol properties at a high-altitude site in the Jammu region.

Fellowship
The selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly fellowship of ₹37,000 plus 8% HRA.
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the JRF post must fulfill the following essential qualifications:
M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences or Atmospheric Sciences.

The candidate must have qualified NET or GATE.
Desirable Qualification
Preference will be given to candidates having in-depth knowledge and practical experience in:
Aerosol measurement techniques.
Data analysis.
MATLAB.
Python.
Similar programming or data-analysis software/languages.
Duration of Appointment
The appointment will be made purely on a contractual basis for a period of one year or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
The selected candidate will not have any right to claim regular or permanent appointment at the Central University of Jammu on the basis of this temporary engagement.

Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview on the basis of merit. Shortlisted candidates will be informed through email.
Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not automatically guarantee an interview call. The decision of the selection committee regarding shortlisting will be final.
