Jammu & Kashmir Bank has invited applications from eligible candidates for the engagement of Zonal Security Officers and Financial Literacy (FL) Counsellors on a purely contractual basis.
The recruitment notification has been issued by the Human Resources Department, Corporate Headquarters, M.A. Road, Srinagar, vide Notification No. JKB/HR/Rectt/2026-412 dated 09 September 2026.

Educational Qualification & Experience
Zonal Security Officer
Candidates must :
Be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized institute.
Have served in the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) or equivalent in the Police, Army or Paramilitary Forces.
Possess an excellent/meritorious service record.
Have a minimum of 3 years of experience as DSP or equivalent.
Financial Literacy (FL) Counsellor
Candidates must :
Be a Graduate from a recognized institute.
Have at least 1 year of work experience in Banking or related fields such as Financial Planning, Insurance, Investment, Fintech or Law.
Possess working knowledge of computers.
Have knowledge of the local language.
Have knowledge and skills for conducting financial literacy camps.

Preference will be given to J&K Bank officers who have superannuated in the normal course or through Voluntary Retirement, provided they were not awarded any punishment under major penalties during their active service.
Job Role & Responsibilities
Zonal Security Officer
The selected Security Officer will be responsible for the overall implementation and periodic review of the Bank’s security policy.
Major responsibilities include :
Planning and executing security arrangements at Bank premises.
Ensuring compliance with Government of India, RBI and Indian Banks Association guidelines.
Maintaining the efficiency, training and discipline of security staff.
Coordinating with Police, Fire Services, local authorities and other government agencies for protection of Bank property.
Providing professional advice and inputs to the Central Security Department.
Carrying out other security-related duties assigned by the Bank.
Financial Literacy Counsellor
The FL Counsellor will provide free financial literacy, education and credit counselling to people in rural and urban areas.
The responsibilities include:
Providing financial counselling through face-to-face interaction and available communication channels.
Educating people about responsible borrowing, savings and debt management.
Creating awareness about financial products and services offered by the formal financial sector.
Encouraging people to connect with formal banking institutions.
Preparing debt restructuring plans for borrowers facing financial distress and recommending them to financial institutions.
Promoting awareness of banking services, financial planning and financial literacy.
Organising workshops, road shows, village fairs, mobile units and other awareness activities.
Conducting financial and digital literacy camps.
Providing counselling and debt-management services free of charge.
Each FL Counsellor is required to conduct at least 2 digital literacy camps and 5 target-specific camps per month, in accordance with the cited RBI guidelines.
Remuneration / Salary
Zonal Security Officer : ₹45,000 per month
TA/DA will be admissible for official tours/visits.
No pension, provident fund or gratuity will be payable.
Applicable taxes will be deducted at source.
Financial Literacy Counsellor : ₹22,000 per month
Monthly conveyance charges will also be payable.
Mobile/telephone charges will be provided.
Performance-linked incentives will be applicable.
No pension, provident fund or gratuity will be payable.
Applicable taxes will be deducted at source.
The remuneration and allowances are fixed for the entire contractual period. Candidates cannot claim the salary or benefits applicable to regular Bank employees.
Age Limit
The maximum age for both positions is 62 years as on the cut-off date of 01 January 2026.
Contract Period
The engagement will be purely contractual for a maximum period of three years from the date of joining, subject to satisfactory annual performance.
Annual performance review will determine continuation.
There will be no automatic renewal after completion of three years.
After three years, a fresh recruitment/engagement process will be conducted.
Existing contractual employees may apply afresh if they fulfil the applicable conditions.
The engagement will not be treated as regular employment.
No claim for regular appointment can be made on the basis of contractual service.
Selection Process
The applications received by the Bank will first be screened for shortlisting.
Eligible and shortlisted candidates will subsequently be called for an Interview/Interaction.
Interview call letters or intimation will be sent through email only. No hard copy call letter will be issued.

Candidates are required to pay an application fee of: ₹500 per application (including GST).

The Bank may reject an application or terminate the contractual engagement if a candidate is found to have submitted false information or forged documents. Legal action may also be taken where applicable.

The Bank also reserves the right to reject applications, cancel the recruitment process or modify the selection process depending on circumstances.
Shortlisted candidates will have to attend the interview/interaction at the designated venue at their own cost and expense.
