Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu), Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Division of Veterinary Microbiology & Immunology, R.S. Pura, has invited applications for a temporary position under an ICMR-NIV research project titled “Molecular Epidemiology, Evolutionary Dynamics and Stability of Rotavirus at Human–Animal–Environment Interface.”

The selected candidate will work under the research project and their engagement will remain valid only for the duration of the project.
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the Project Technical Support-I position must fulfil one of the following educational and experience criteria:
10th + Diploma in MLT/DMLT or equivalent + 2 years of experience in the relevant subject or field; OR

Three-year Graduate Degree in the relevant subject or field + 1 year of experience in the relevant subject.
The prescribed age limit for the post is up to 28 years.
Desirable Experience and Skills
Preference will be given to candidates having relevant practical experience, particularly in:
Handling of microbes
Sterilization of equipment
Microbiology techniques
Biotechnology tools and techniques
Other laboratory-related work relevant to the project
Candidates with hands-on laboratory experience may therefore have an advantage during the screening process.
Salary / Emoluments
The selected candidate will receive:
₹18,000 per month (consolidated) as per applicable ICMR norms, along with HRA as admissible.
Duration of the Appointment
The post is offered for a period of three years or up to the completion of the project, whichever is applicable.
Since this is a project-based position, the appointment will not be treated as a permanent university job.
Important Terms and Conditions
The recruitment is strictly for a temporary, contractual project position. The selected candidate will be governed by the applicable ICMR-NIV and SKUAST-J guidelines.
The candidate will not have any legal right to claim regularization, permanent appointment, absorption, or continuation against any regular or other contractual post. The appointment will automatically come to an end when the project period expires.
The university/funding agency also reserves the right to withdraw the advertised position at any stage without assigning any reason.
Candidates who are already employed must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer. An experience certificate may also be required where applicable.
Interview and Selection Process
Possessing the minimum educational qualification does not automatically guarantee an interview call.
A Screening Committee may shortlist candidates after considering their educational qualifications and relevant experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed through email or phone regarding the interview.
