Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu has released an Advertisement Notice for the engagement of a Senior Resident in Nuclear Medicine at Government Medical College Jammu and its associated hospitals. Eligible candidates can apply for the tenured Senior Resident post through the prescribed application process.
The recruitment will be carried out through a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ)-based written examination, and candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written test.

Candidates applying for the Senior Resident post must possess the required postgraduate qualification as prescribed under the latest National Medical Commission (NMC) Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations for the concerned discipline. Selection Process

Non-PSC candidates are also required to deposit a copy of the completed application form in the office of the Principal, GMC Jammu.
In-service candidates must submit their applications through the proper channel; otherwise, their applications will not be entertained.

Important Instructions for Candidates
Incomplete applications or applications without the required certificates, documents, affidavit or fee receipt will not be accepted.
Candidates who have already completed their tenure as Registrar, Demonstrator or Senior Resident/Tutor in any discipline, or who are currently undergoing Registrar-ship in any Medical College of Jammu and Kashmir, including AIIMS Jammu, are not required to apply and their applications will not be considered.
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the written examination will have to produce their original academic and technical qualification certificates along with self-attested copies.
Candidates other than in-service candidates are also required to submit an affidavit attested by a First Class Magistrate confirming that they are not working in another medical college in Jammu and Kashmir and that the information provided in the application is true and correct.
Tie-Breaking Rule
If two or more candidates secure the same merit in the written examination, preference will first be given to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in MBBS. If the MBBS marks are also the same, the older candidate will be preferred.
Waiting List and Tenure-Related Conditions
Along with the select list, GMC Jammu will maintain a waiting list valid for three months. If a selected candidate does not join, the next candidate in order of merit may be invited to join.
The advertisement also states that a candidate appointed to the tenured position will not receive an experience certificate unless they have served for at least six months. A selected candidate leaving the Senior Registrar-ship before completing six months is required to deposit a ₹50,000 penalty, with an affidavit to this effect to be submitted at the time of joining.
