The Department of Remote Sensing and GIS, University of Jammu, Jammu, has invited applications from eligible Indian nationals for the engagement of Junior Project Fellow (JPF) under an NHMS-funded research project titled “Assessment of glacier-climate functional relationships across the Indian Himalayan region through long-term network observations.”

Vacancy Details

The recruitment is for 01 post of Junior Project Fellow (JPF).

The maximum age limit for applicants is 28 years. Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Women and Physically Handicapped candidates will be applicable as per Government of India rules.

Duration of Engagement

The engagement will continue up to 29 March 2027 or until completion of the project, whichever is applicable as per the project requirements.

Salary / Emoluments

The selected candidate will receive Rs. 24,000 per month plus 18% HRA.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess a Post Graduate Degree in Basic Sciences/Environmental Sciences or a Graduate Degree in Professional Courses.

Experience or academic work related to glacier science at the postgraduate level.

Master’s degree in Remote Sensing & GIS, Environmental Sciences, Geography, Physics, Geoinformatics, Applied Geology or Geology.
