The Department of Remote Sensing and GIS, University of Jammu, has invited applications from eligible candidates for the engagement of Project Fellow under a research project sanctioned by the J&K Science, Technology & Innovation Council (JKSTIC), Department of Science & Technology.
The project is titled “Integrated Landslide Susceptibility Mapping Using GIS and Machine Learning in the Ramban District of J&K.” Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications along with their CV, qualification certificates and other required documents through email.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
Remote Sensing and GIS
Computer Sciences
Geology
Applied Geology
Environmental Sciences
Equivalent qualification
Candidates should have secured at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree. Preference will be given to candidates having computational and GIS skills.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit is 28 years.
Relaxation of up to 5 years in the upper age limit is applicable to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Women, Persons with Disabilities and OBC categories, as mentioned in the notification.
Tenure of Appointment
The appointment will initially be made for a period of one year. It may be extended for another year based on the candidate’s performance and availability of funds.
The engagement is purely temporary, time-bound and non-regular, and the selected candidate will not have any legal right to claim regularization or permanent appointment.
Interview Details
Eligible candidates will be informed about the date of the interview. Candidates must bring their original documents at the time of the interview.
Candidates whose qualifying examination results have not yet been declared may also apply, but they must produce the result during the interview.
No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the interview. The rules and regulations of JKSTIC and the University of Jammu will apply.
