1. Ashutosh Dixit Appointed New Chief of Indian Air Force
Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit has been appointed as the next Chief of the Air Staff. He will assume the rank of Air Chief Marshal and take charge on 31 October 2026, succeeding Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh. Dixit will become the 29th Chief of the Indian Air Force.
2. Cabinet Approves ₹10,000 Crore SME Growth Fund
The Union Cabinet has approved a commitment of ₹10,000 crore for the establishment of an SME Growth Fund. The fund will provide direct equity investment in small and medium enterprises and support the creation of future growth-oriented companies.
3. Integrated Transport & Logistics Authority Approved
The Union Cabinet has also approved the establishment of an Integrated Transport & Logistics Authority, aimed at improving coordination and efficiency across India’s transport and logistics ecosystem.
4. DDU-GKY Completes 12 Years
The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) has completed 12 years. Since its launch in 2014, the scheme has trained more than 18.47 lakh rural youth and focuses on skill development and employment opportunities for rural youth.
