GMC Anantnag Issues Fresh Order

Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag has issued an order regarding the engagement of a Junior Resident in the institution. The order, bearing No. 75-GMCA of 2026, is dated October 5, 2026 and has been issued by the Health & Medical Education Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir.

GMC Anantnag Junior Resident Engagement 2026

The engagement follows Advertisement Notice No. 08 GMCA of 2026, dated April 24, 2026, through which applications were invited from eligible candidates for tenure-based Junior Resident positions at Government Medical College, Anantnag.

A written examination for the posts was conducted on June 1, 2026, at the Main Campus, Dialgam, GMC Anantnag. The merit list of candidates who appeared in the written examination was subsequently published through an official notification dated June 16, 2026.

Based on the merit secured by candidates and the vacancies available, selected candidates were issued appointment/selection notifications and were directed to report to the Establishment Section of GMC Anantnag for verification of their credentials and documents.

Following receipt and verification of the required CID Verification Report, GMC Anantnag has formally engaged Ishrat Assadullah as a Junior Resident.

The engagement is effective from the date of the candidate’s initial joining and remains subject to satisfactory performance, as certified by the concerned Head of the Department.

Terms and Conditions

The Junior Resident engagement is purely temporary and tenure-based and does not confer any right to regular appointment or continuation beyond the prescribed tenure.

The selected candidate is required to submit an affidavit in the Establishment Section of GMC Anantnag, duly attested by a Judicial Magistrate of the First Class, confirming acceptance of the terms and conditions prescribed under the applicable agreement and undertaking.

The engagement will remain subject to satisfactory performance, conduct, attendance and fulfilment of all applicable conditions. In case of unsatisfactory performance, misconduct, unauthorised absence or violation of the engagement conditions, the services may be terminated without prior notice.

The initial tenure will be for six months, which may be extended up to a maximum period of one year, subject to satisfactory performance and approval by the competent authority.

One-Month Notice for Leaving the Post

If the Junior Resident intends to leave, abandon or discontinue the post during the engagement period, the candidate is required to provide one month’s prior notice to the institution.

In case the required notice period is not served, the salary for one month may be withheld in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions.

A Junior Resident who leaves or discontinues the post before completing the initial six-month period will not be entitled to claim an experience certificate for the engagement, as specified in the order.

Casual Leave Entitlement

During the tenure of engagement, the Junior Resident will be entitled to 7½ days of Casual Leave.

Any leave beyond the admissible entitlement, even if sanctioned by the competent authority, will be treated as leave without stipend/remuneration in accordance with the prescribed terms and conditions.

Department Allocation

The order also clarifies that the department or unit allotted to the Junior Resident may be changed whenever required in the institutional interest.

The services may also be terminated without prior notice in cases involving misconduct, participation in a strike, unauthorised cessation of duties or unsatisfactory performance.

Full-Time and Non-Practising Engagement

The engagement is full-time and non-practising in nature. The Junior Resident is not permitted to undertake private practice or any other professional engagement during the period of tenure.

The order has been issued by the Principal of Government Medical College, Anantnag, and copies have been forwarded to the concerned authorities and officials for information, publication, implementation and compliance.
