Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri has invited applications from eligible Non-PSC doctors who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for engagement as Junior Residents on a tenure basis in various disciplines.
The recruitment has been announced through Advertisement Notice No. 07 GMCR (ADM) of 2026, dated 06 October 2026.
The Junior Resident engagement will initially be for a period of six months and may be extended up to a maximum period of one year, subject to satisfactory performance and other applicable conditions.

The recruitment is open to eligible Non-PSC doctors who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

Application Fee
Applicants are required to submit a non-refundable application fee of ₹500 (Rupees Five Hundred only).

How to Apply
Eligible and interested candidates are required to submit the duly filled application form prescribed and annexed with the recruitment notification.
The completed application form, along with the required documents and application fee, must be submitted to the office of the undersigned at:

The application must reach the concerned office on or before 15 October 2026 up to 4:00 PM.
Applications received after the prescribed deadline or submitted through any mode other than the prescribed mode will not be entertained.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be made strictly on the basis of merit obtained in the Written Examination/Screening Test.
The date, time and venue of the Written Examination/Screening Test will be notified separately through the official website of Government Medical College, Rajouri.
Candidates are therefore advised to regularly check the official website for examination-related updates.
Documents Required
Candidates must attach self-attested copies of the following documents along with the application form:
Date of Birth Certificate/Matriculation (10th Class) Certificate.
10+2 Qualification Certificate.
MBBS Marks Certificates of all Professional Examinations.
Internship Completion Certificate.
Attempt Certificate.
MBBS Degree Certificate.
Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
FMGE Screening Test Certificate, wherever applicable.
Registration Certificate issued by the Jammu & Kashmir Medical Council/National Medical Commission, as applicable.
Certificates relating to distinctions, honours, medals, national scholarships, academic merit, sports certificates/medals or any other academic achievements, if any.
Candidates should carefully verify the documents before submission because incomplete applications or applications without the requisite documents may be rejected.
Terms and Conditions
The selected Junior Residents will be paid remuneration/salary as admissible under the relevant rules in force from time to time.
Any appointed or serving Junior Resident intending to resign from service will be required to provide one month’s prior notice, duly forwarded by the concerned Head of Department.
No experience certificate will be issued to a Junior Resident who has rendered service for a period of less than six months.
No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the Written Examination/Screening Test or for joining the institution.
The selected candidates will not be permitted to undertake private practice or part-time/full-time employment elsewhere during their tenure. They will be required to work on a full-time basis.
The competent authority reserves the right to amend, modify, withdraw, cancel or alter any condition of the advertisement, either wholly or partially, at any stage without assigning any reason and without prior notice.
Mere submission of an application form and supporting documents will not confer any right upon a candidate for consideration or selection. The candidature will remain provisional and may be cancelled at any stage if the applicant is found ineligible or if any information furnished is found to be incorrect.
The Written Examination/Screening Test will be conducted against posts that are vacant or likely to fall vacant. However, the institution reserves the right to increase, decrease, alter or withdraw the number of vacancies or decide not to fill any or all vacancies at any stage of the selection process.
The salary of provisionally selected candidates will be drawn only after verification of all requisite documents and satisfactory character and antecedent verification through CID.
The selection and engagement of candidates will remain subject to the outcome of any writ petition pending before any competent court of law.
If any declaration or information furnished by a candidate is found to be false, fabricated or deliberately suppressed, the engagement of the candidate shall be cancelled ab initio, and further action may be initiated as warranted under the rules.
Important Notes for Candidates
Incomplete application forms or applications not accompanied by the required documents will be rejected without further notice or communication.
In case of a tie in merit between two or more candidates in the Written Examination/Screening Test, preference will be given to the candidate securing higher aggregate percentage marks in MBBS.
If the tie still persists, preference will be given to the older candidate.
