Many organizations support Jammu Bandh on Dec 7 for internet services,disbanding of Toll Plaza

Representatives of over a dozen organizations of Jammu today pledged their support to the Bandh Call announced by NPP on December 7, seeking lifting ofban on mobile internet services,disbanding of Sarore Toll Plaza soaring prices of essential com-modities, token tax on vehicles besides policy of bias perpetuatedagainst Jammu region even afterthe Reorganization of State.

Meanwhile, Harsh Dev while asserting that call for Dec 7 Jammu Bandh had received over whelming response from students and youth in particular, today appealed the civil society to participate and sup-port the Panthers Party’s initiative against the ‘authoritarian moves’ of the Government. Talking to the media-personsSingh said that demand for restora-tion of mobile internet though wasbeing raised from various quartersbut different organizations were also holding separate rallies andprotests over the issue. He saidjoint efforts needed to be made soas to awaken the Government tothe inconvenience and sufferingscaused to the varied sections ofsociety due to communication blockade.

“Rather than indulgingin a cacophony of voices, let’s allspeak in one harmonious chorus aswe are all fighting for the samecause,” he said. While accusing the Govt ofimposing unfriendly and unwhole-some decisions on the public, hesaid that installation of “Toll Plazas” in and around Jammu,transfer of registration powersfrom judicial officers, impositionof 9% token tax on new vehiclesand soaring prices of staple vegeta-bles, pulses and other essential commodities had sparked massive outrage with people desperately seeking an occasion to ventilate their grievances.
