Kulgam Encounter Update: After early brief exchange of firing, no fresh firing reported
After a brief exchange of firing between militants and goverment forces in Yamrach area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thrusday, no fresh exchange of firing has been reported.
Official sources told that after early contact was established with militants during wee hours there has been no exchange of firing.
However the cordon and search operation is still intact in the area, they said.
As per the sources militants might have escaped at encounter site during initial exchange of firing taking advantage of darkness.
Earlier reports reaching said that a joint team of Police, army’s 34RR and CRPF launched cordon search operation in Yamrach.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.
A senior police officer also confirmed to about the exchange of firing between forces and militants. As per the sources two to three militants believed to be trapped.
