6 more employees terminated on charges of involvement in Militancy

Srinagar, Sep 22 (KNO): The administration of Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory on Wednesday sacked six employees for their involvement in militancy-related incidents.

According to separate orders issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the copies of which are in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Lieutenant Governor of the UT has dismissed these employees after being satisfied that it is not expedient to hold inquiry against them in the interest of the security of the State.

Under sub-clause (C) of the proviso to clause (2) of the Article 311 of Constitution of India, the government can terminate an employee without holding mandatory inquiry into charges against him.

Those dismissed employees includes two each from J&K Police & School Education department, one officer of the Forest department and an employee of the Roads & Buildings department.

The sacked employees, according to orders issued by the GAD, have been identified as Abdul Hamid Wani( teacher from Bijbhera Anantnag), Jafferer Hussain Butt ( police constable from Hunjalla Kishtwar), Showkat Ahmad Khan( constable in IRP 12th battalion from Narbal Budgam), Muhammad d Rafi Butt( junior assistant in Public Works Department of Pochhal, Kishtwar), Liyaqat Ali Kakroo(teacher from Nambla Uri) and Tariq Mehmood Kohli(range officer in the Forest Department from Chandak Haveli, Poonch).

These employees have been terminated on recommendations of a high-level committee constituted by the J&K government in 2020.

In July this year, the administration of UT sacked 11 employees for their involvement in anti-national activities—(KNO)
