Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be done through Interview only. There is no written test mentioned in the notification.
Shortlisting: Candidates who fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria are considered for shortlisting. They are shortlisted on the basis of aggregate marks scored in the qualifying course / examination, in order of merit, in the ratio of 1:10 (maximum) to the number of vacancies in each discipline and category.
Interview: The suitability of shortlisted candidates is assessed by a Selection Committee by way of Interview. The date, time and venue will be intimated to shortlisted candidates only via e-mail, and the list of shortlisted candidates will be hosted on the HAL website.
Final Selection: Selection against the posts notified for each Discipline is made on the basis of performance in the Interview. Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in the Interview to qualify (relaxation for SC / ST / PwBD candidates as per rules).
How shortlisting works: all Unreserved candidates of each discipline, along with SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS candidates of that discipline who do not avail any relaxation, are grouped together, arranged in descending order of merit and called in the ratio of 1:10 in the UR category. SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS candidates not shortlisted under UR are regrouped with their respective categories and called in the ratio of 1:10 in their respective category. If marks in the qualifying examination are the same, the candidate who is elder or senior in age is considered first. Merely meeting the qualification does not entitle a candidate to be shortlisted for the Interview.
Documents and Verification
All candidates called for Interview must produce certificates in original for all particulars declared in the Application Form at the Document Verification stage prior to the Interview.
Candidates in SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS / PwBD (disability of 40% or more) categories must submit copies of the Caste Certificate / Income & Asset Certificate / Disability Certificate, as applicable, in the prescribed format at the time of Interview / Document Verification.
Candidates employed in Central Government or State Government Departments, Public Sector Enterprises, Autonomous Organizations, Quasi Government Organizations, Armed Forces or Para-Military Forces (Regular, Contractual or on Contract basis) must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at Document Verification. If NOC does not apply, a document from the employer citing the same must be produced. Candidates who fail to submit these will not be permitted to appear for the Interview and will not be eligible for Travelling Allowance.
Engagement is subject to verification of Caste / Income & Asset / Disability Certificate (wherever applicable) and Character & Antecedents.
The vacancies are to be filled by external candidates only through Direct Recruitment. Applications of internal candidates, if any, will not be considered.
Pre-Employment Medical Standards
Candidates provisionally selected by HAL, including PwBDs, must undergo a Pre-employment Medical Examination before joining.
Appointment is subject to a satisfactory medical report from the Company’s Doctor as per the Medical Standards of the Company. The decision of the Company’s Doctor is final and binding.
No relaxation in health standards will be allowed.
For PwBDs, suitability for appointment in relation to the disability will be decided on the basis of reports of the Medical Board attached to the Special Employment Exchanges for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. Their appointment will be provisional until then, and is subject to verification of the Disability Certificate as per Company Rules.
