Overview :

MECON Limited is one of India’s premier Design, Engineering, Consultancy, and Contracting organisations, providing services across the project lifecycle from concept to commissioning, including EPC execution, for Greenfield and Brownfield projects. Through this notification, MECON invites applications from experienced professionals for contractual engagement on a Full Time Fixed Tenure (FTFT) basis, with contract durations ranging from 1 to 5 years depending on the specific post.

MECON FTFT Vacancy 2026

A total of 159 posts are on offer across 59 distinct post codes. MECON has stated that the advertised vacancy/post count is tentative and may increase or decrease at any time without prior information. Eligibility Criteria

Post-wise qualification and minimum post-qualification experience are listed in the Vacancy table above. In addition, the following general conditions apply:

The requisite educational qualification should be acquired through a Regular/Full-Time course only; certificate courses may be acquired through part-time mode also.

Qualifications must be from Universities/Institutes recognised by Government, or accredited by councils/bodies such as UGC/AICTE/MCI/ICAI/ICSI set up by the Central or State Government.

Work experience must be in a full-time job on a regular salary basis, in the relevant area stipulated against the respective post; freelance and entrepreneurial experience are not considered.

Periods of on-the-job training as a Management Trainee (MT)/Executive Trainee (ET)/Graduate Trainee (GT) in PSUs only may be considered for work experience; Articleship, Internship, Academic Project, Teaching, or Research experience is not considered as post-qualification experience.

Period of apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship Act is considered for the purpose of ascertaining required post-qualification experience.

Documentary Evidence for Work Experience

For past employment, candidates must submit experience certificates clearly indicating date of joining, date of relieving, nature of duties, and relevance to the applied post; in the absence of such a certificate, that experience will not be considered. For current employment, candidates must submit an experience certificate, offer/appointment letter, or identity card showing date of joining, along with the last 3 months’ pay slips as proof of continuity. Self-declarations regarding nature of job or area of experience will not be accepted.

Age Limit

The upper age limit for General and EWS category candidates is as specified against each post in the Vacancy table above (predominantly 50 years), with the cut-off date for age and experience being 25 September 2026.

SC, ST, and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates applying against an Unreserved (UR) category post are considered on General category merit, and no age-limit or fee relaxation applies to them in that case.

 

Salary & Benefits

The consolidated monthly pay for each post is given in the Vacancy table above (ranging from ₹41,190 to ₹78,390, depending on the post and experience slab). In addition, the following benefits apply:

Site/Metro Allowance: 7.5% of pay as Site Allowance for postings at site/project locations, or 2.5% of pay as Metro Allowance for postings at Metro locations.

Annual Increment: 3% of consolidated pay (rounded to the next ten rupees), as per company rules.

Medical Facilities: OPD/IPD coverage (including medicine) at Ispat Hospital for self, spouse, and 2 dependent children if posted at Ranchi; free consultation via the company’s retainer doctor at other locations; reimbursement of annual Mediclaim premium up to ₹15,000 (₹4,00,000 floater cover) as per company policy.

Accommodation: Company/client residential accommodation where available, on prevailing charges; if not availed, House Rent Allowance (HRA) at 5% of consolidated pay.

Leave: 12 days Casual Leave, 18 days Earned Leave (accumulable up to 45 days), 14 days Half Pay Leave, and Maternity Leave as applicable to regular employees, plus National/Festival/Restricted Holidays (4 nos.) as applicable to regular employees.

Group Personal Accident Policy: Sum insured of ₹25 lakhs.

Fee is payable online only, through the payment gateway provided in the online application form; no other mode of payment is accepted. Fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances, and applications without the fee (or with a short-paid fee) will be rejected. After payment, candidates must click “Verify” to update their application status to “Submitted.”

 

Selection Process

The mode of selection is Personal Interview (subject to change at Management’s discretion). Candidates should ensure they meet all eligibility criteria before applying, since candidature is subject to verification of documents when reporting for interview, if shortlisted, or at any later stage of the recruitment/appointment process.

The list of candidates called for interview, along with date, time, and venue, will be uploaded on MECON’s official website and communicated to shortlisted candidates via their registered email.

The final list of selected candidates will also be published on MECON’s website, and selected candidates will be informed about Document Verification and Medical Examination through the website and registered email only.

Scrutiny of the application is undertaken on the date of the interview; if any claim made in the application is not substantiated, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for interview, and no Travelling Allowance (TA) will be paid.

Before appointment, selected candidates must undergo a Medical Examination and be found medically fit; joining is subject to this outcome.

Travelling Allowance for Interview

Outstation candidates appearing for the Personal Interview are reimbursed Travelling Allowance for III Tier A/C (3A)/CC by rail, or ₹7 per km by road, or actual expenditure, whichever is less, subject to production of tickets/receipts/boarding pass (regular rail fare only, no premium Tatkal). Internal candidates are governed by the company’s service rules.

A recent passport-size colour photograph (JPG/JPEG format, maximum 40 KB).

A scanned signature in blue/black ink (JPG/JPEG format, maximum 40 KB).

Self-attested scanned copies (PDF format) of: Matriculation/Secondary Board certificate or Municipal birth certificate (for age proof); final/provisional Graduation and Post-Graduation certificates, as applicable; all semester/year mark sheets or a consolidated mark sheet; work experience certificates/documents as described in the Eligibility section; PAN Card and Aadhaar Card; PwD certificate (if applicable); EWS Income & Asset Certificate (if applicable); Discharge/Service Certificate for Ex-servicemen (if applicable); J&K domicile certificate (if applicable); and Meritorious Sportsperson certificate (if applicable).

All documents must be legible, self-attested, and not encrypted/password-protected. Multiple documents should be merged into a single PDF not exceeding 1 MB. If the Aadhaar number entered online does not match the uploaded Aadhaar card, the application will be summarily rejected. No modifications are allowed after the online application is submitted, so candidates should verify all details carefully before submitting.

Important Instructions

Candidates employed in Central/State Government, PSUs, or Autonomous Bodies must either forward their application through proper channel, or produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their present employer at the time of interview; without this, they will neither be interviewed nor paid TA.

All original certificates/documents must be produced before the interview; failure to do so means the candidate will neither be interviewed nor paid TA.

Furnishing wrong/false information, or producing overwritten/illegible documents, will lead to disqualification; if discovered at any stage (including after appointment), the candidature or offer of appointment will be cancelled.
