A total of 94 vacancies have been announced across four faculty designations – Assistant Professor (85 posts), Associate Professor (05 posts), Additional Professor (02 posts), and Professor (02 posts) – covering 40 departments. Vacancies are distributed across SC, ST, OBC, UR, and EWS categories. 4% of posts are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). Eligibility Criteria :

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of online application (18-06-2026). Applications from Indian citizens and OCI cardholders under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act, 1955 are permissible. Educational qualification and experience must be completed on or before the last date of online submission. Residency period for the desired educational qualification must also be completed and the candidate declared successful in the final examination on or before the closing date. Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok is not required; however, all essential qualifications must be from NMC/MCI/DCI/Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council or UGC recognized institutions as applicable.

Age Limit :

The upper age limit for Assistant Professor and Associate Professor is 50 years. Upper age limit for Additional Professor and Professor posts is 58 years for all posts. The cut-off date for determining age eligibility is the last date of online application submission, i.e., 18-06-2026. Note: The upper age limit, even after availing age relaxation, shall not surpass 55 years for Assistant Professor/Associate Professor as on cutoff date. There is no age relaxation for Additional Professor/Professor posts.

Application Fee :

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee as specified below. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be rejected outright.

Application fee, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances, except for SC/ST candidates who appear in the interview.

PWBD candidates are exempted from the application fee. Candidates are advised to confirm their eligibility before making payment.

Selection Process :

The selection process consists of two stages – Objective Screening/Short-listing followed by an Interview/Personality Test conducted by the AIIMS Awantipora Standing Selection Committee. The Institute uses objective criteria for short-listing. Candidates meeting age, essential educational qualifications, and experience requirements will be shortlisted in the first stage. Further screening using objective criteria will be applied where the number of valid applicants for any post exceeds ten after the first stage. Each candidate is assigned a score based on information and documents provided; top 10 scores per post (or multiples of 10 for more than one post) are called for interview. The entire interview process will be video recorded. Final selection is based on the Standing Selection Committee’s assessment at interview only – screening scores are not used for final selection.

Applications must be submitted online only through the AIIMS Exams portal at www.aiimsexams.ac.in. The online portal will be active from 20-05-2026 to 18-06-2026 (5:00 PM). No physical/hard copy applications will be accepted. No documents, including the registration slip, are required to be sent in physical form. Candidates must upload supporting documents at the time of online registration itself – failure to upload mandatory documents will result in a score of zero for the respective criterion. Candidates may apply for more than one post code if they meet the eligibility criteria for each. No corrections will be permitted after online submission of the form; candidates are advised to fill the registration form carefully. Candidates currently employed in Government/Semi-Government/Quasi-Government organizations must upload their NOC at the time of online registration.
