The Central University of Jammu (CU Jammu) has invited applications for the engagement of research staff under an ICSSR-sponsored research project in the Department of National Security Studies. The engagement is purely temporary and part-time in nature.
Project Details
The recruitment is being conducted for the ICSSR Research Project titled:
“Human Security Challenges in Tribal Communities of Border Districts and Conflict Affected Areas of Jammu and Kashmir: Pathways for National Stability”
The project is being undertaken under the Scheme Major and Minor Research Projects (2025–26) in the Department of National Security Studies, Central University of Jammu, Rahya-Suchani (Bagla), Samba.
Vacancies
1. Research Assistant
Number of Vacancies: 01
Duration: Up to 11 months

Qualification: Post Graduate in any Social Science discipline
Minimum Marks: 55%
Preference: Candidates having NET/M.Phil./Ph.D. will be preferred
Remuneration: ₹37,000 per month, consolidated
2. Field Investigator
Number of Vacancies: 02
Duration: Up to 06 months
Initial tenure: 04 months
Possible extension: Additional 02 months on need basis
Qualification: Post Graduate in any Social Science discipline
Minimum Marks: 55%
Remuneration: ₹20,000 per month, consolidated
Nature of Engagement
The positions are part-time and purely temporary, and are linked specifically to the ICSSR-funded research project. The engagement will automatically end when the project/scheme terminates, or it may be discontinued earlier at the discretion of the Project Director or Project Co-Director.
Selection for these positions will not provide any right or claim for regular employment at the Central University of Jammu.
Selection Process
Candidates whose applications are shortlisted will be called for a physical interview. Information regarding the interview will be communicated to shortlisted candidates through email only.
Candidates appearing for the interview will not be entitled to TA/DA. The decision of the Selection Committee regarding selection will be final.
