Competition Commission of India Recruitment 2026: Applications Invited for 2 Member Posts
The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has uploaded a communication from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, inviting applications from eligible Indian nationals for filling up 02 posts of Member in the Competition Commission of India (CCI).

Eligibility Criteria
As per Section 8(2) of the Competition Act, 2002, the candidate appointed as Member of the CCI should be a person of ability, integrity and standing.

The applicant must possess special knowledge and professional experience of at least 15 years in one or more of the following fields:
International Trade
Economics
Business
Commerce
Law
Finance
Accountancy
Management
Industry
Technology
Public Affairs
Competition Matters, including Competition Law and Policy
The experience and expertise should, in the opinion of the Central Government, be useful to the functioning of the Commission.
Tenure and Age Limit
The selected Member will hold office for a period of five years from the date of joining the office.
The Member will be eligible for re-appointment, subject to the applicable rules. However, a person cannot continue as Member beyond the age of 65 years.
Salary
The selected Member of the Competition Commission of India will receive:
Consolidated Salary: ₹5 lakh per month
The notice specifically states that the Member will not be entitled to a house and car.
Who Can Apply?
Applications can be submitted by eligible officers from:
Central Government
State Governments
Union Territories
Government officers who are interested in the position and can be spared if selected may apply through proper channel.
Their applications must be duly verified/countersigned by the Head of Department wherever applicable.
Documents Required for Government Employees
Serving government employees are required to submit the prescribed certificates and documents along with their applications, including:
Certificate confirming that there are no vigilance, disciplinary or criminal proceedings pending or contemplated against the applicant.
Integrity certificate.
Duly authenticated copies of the applicant’s ACR/APAR dossiers for the last five years.
Details of any major or minor penalties imposed during the last 10 years, or a No Penalty Certificate.
Important Conditions
Incomplete applications or applications received after the prescribed deadline are liable to be rejected.
Candidates may also send an advance copy of their application to the Ministry before the due date.
Candidates who are already employed, including those serving in government departments, will have to resign or seek retirement from their existing service before joining the post, if selected.
The selected candidate will be required to join the post within one month from the date of issue of the appointment offer.
Last Date to Apply
The completed application form must reach the concerned authority within 45 days from the date of issue of the circular.

Candidates other than serving government employees are required to attach testimonials from two referees holding responsible positions. The referees should not be relatives of the applicant and their contact details must be provided.
Govt Employee Application Rules
Applications from serving government employees, including employees of PSUs and autonomous organisations, must be forwarded through the proper channel.
The required certificates from the cadre-controlling/competent authority must also be submitted.
The selected candidate may also be required to undergo a medical examination, if considered necessary by the Central Government.
