High Court J&K and Ladakh Invites Applications for 2 Members in Competition Commission of India

The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has forwarded a communication from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, regarding the filling up of 02 posts of Member in the Competition Commission of India (CCI). The notice invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the posts.

Competition Commission of India Recruitment 2026

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, has invited applications for two posts of Member in the Competition Commission of India. The communication was issued on 11 August 2026 and circulated through the High Court of J&K and Ladakh for information and wider dissemination.

Eligibility Criteria

As per Section 8(2) of the Competition Act, 2002, the candidate appointed as Member of the Competition Commission of India should be a person of ability, integrity and standing.

The experience should be considered useful to the functioning of the Competition Commission of India.

Tenure and Salary

The terms and conditions of service for the Member of CCI will be governed by the Competition Commission of India (Salary, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and other Members) Rules, 2003, as amended from time to time.

Number of Posts: 02

Tenure: 5 years from the date of joining

Re-appointment: Eligible for re-appointment

Maximum Age: The Member cannot continue beyond 65 years of age

Monthly Salary: ₹5 lakh consolidated

House and Car: The Member will not be entitled to house and car facilities under the terms specified in the notice.

Applications from Government Employees

Eligible officers working with the Central Government, State Governments or Union Territories may also apply, provided they can be spared in case of selection.

Applications from serving government employees must be forwarded through the proper channel and duly verified/countersigned by the Head of Department wherever applicable. The required documents include:

Certificate confirming that no vigilance, disciplinary or criminal proceedings are pending or contemplated against the applicant.

Integrity certificate.

Duly authenticated copies of the applicant’s ACR/APAR dossiers for the last five years.

Details of major/minor penalties imposed during the last ten years, or a No Penalty Certificate.

Important Conditions

Incomplete applications or applications received after the prescribed deadline are liable to be rejected.

Candidates who are already employed, including those in government service, will have to resign or seek retirement from their existing service before joining the post, if selected.

The selected candidate will be required to join the post within one month from the date of issue of the appointment offer.

The completed application in the prescribed Annexure-I format must reach the concerned authority within 45 days from the date of issue of the circular.

Applicants other than serving government employees are required to attach testimonials from two referees holding responsible positions, who should not be their relatives. The referees’ addresses, contact numbers and email IDs must also be provided.

Important Instructions

Serving government employees must submit the certificates prescribed in Appendix-A through their cadre controlling/competent authority.

Applications of serving government employees, including employees of PSUs and autonomous organisations, must be submitted through the proper channel.

Applicants may attach additional sheets if the space provided in the application form is insufficient.

The selected candidate may also be required to undergo a medical examination, if required by the Central Government.

Certificates Required for Government Employees

The competent/cadre controlling authority is required to furnish certificates confirming:

No vigilance, disciplinary or criminal proceedings are pending or contemplated.

The integrity of the applicant is certified.

Authenticated ACR/APAR dossiers for the last five years are enclosed.

Details of major/minor penalties imposed during the last ten years, or a No Penalty Certificate, are attached.
