Eligibility Criteria
The ISRO ISTRAC Apprentice 2026 eligibility rules are strict and candidates should verify each condition carefully before applying. Only those who passed their qualifying examination as regular candidates are eligible – correspondence, private, or sandwich course degrees are not accepted. Candidates currently pursuing higher studies (e.g., B.E./B.Tech for diploma holders) are also not eligible.
Educational Qualification
Graduate Apprentice (GA01-GA06): B.E./B.Tech in the relevant engineering discipline from any recognised University. For GA07 (Library Science): MLISc. (Library and Information Science).
Diploma Apprentice (DA01-DA06): Diploma in Engineering awarded by a recognised State Board in the respective discipline. DA06 requires Diploma in Commercial Practice.
ITI Trade Apprentice (TA01-TA05): ITI certificate in the concerned trade from any recognised University.
Year of Passing Condition
Candidates must have passed their qualifying course in 2024, 2025, or 2026 only. Candidates are also required to join within 3 years of acquiring the degree/diploma/ITI (calculated from the month and year of passing as stated in the certificate). If this three-year window lapses before the date of joining, the candidature will be cancelled.
NATS Registration (Mandatory)
Every candidate must register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal at nats. education.gov.in before applying. The NATS Enrolment Number must be included in the email application. Applications without a valid NATS Enrolment Number are liable to be rejected. Candidates must upload their Degree/Diploma/ITI certificate and a valid government-issued ID on the NATS portal during registration.
Other Eligibility Conditions
Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
Ex-apprentices, candidates currently undergoing apprenticeship elsewhere, or candidates with one year or more of work experience in Government/Public/Private Sector as on the date of joining are not eligible.
Combining this apprenticeship with any other institution’s apprenticeship is not permitted.
Courses must be recognised by any University in India or State Boards.
How to Apply – Email Only
Applications for ISRO ISTRAC Apprentice 2026 are accepted exclusively via email – no online portal, no postal applications. Candidates must send their application to the dedicated email ID of the location they are applying for. If applying to multiple locations, separate emails must be sent to each location’s dedicated email address.
Step-by-Step Application Process
- Register on the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in and obtain your NATS Enrolment Number.
- Prepare scanned copies of: Final Degree/Diploma/ITI Certificate (or final year/semester mark sheet if certificate is awaited), Class X and Pre-University marks card/certificate, and NATS Enrolment Number.
- Compose an email to the correct location-specific email ID (see table below).
- In the Subject Line, mention the Post Code – e.g., “Application for Post Code: GA02”.
- In the body of the email, clearly state: Name, Contact Number, Degree/Diploma/ITI Details, Year of Passing, and NATS Enrolment ID.
- Attach all required documents and send before 31 July 2026.

Selection Process :
The ISRO ISTRAC Apprentice selection process consists of document scrutiny followed by an in-person interview. There is no written examination. Candidates shortlisted after screening will be called to the respective location for document verification and interview, and a merit panel will be drawn based on academic scores and interview performance.
Application Scrutiny: Submitted emails are screened for eligibility and completeness.
Shortlisting: Eligible candidates are shortlisted based on academic percentage and other criteria.
Document Verification / Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called to the respective centre. Interviews are held at Lucknow (27-28 August 2026), Sri Vijaya Puram (03-04 September 2026), and Bengaluru (09-11 September 2026). Reporting time at all centres is 8:30 AM.
Panel Formation: A merit panel is prepared based on Degree/Diploma/ITI academic scores and interview performance.
Final Induction: Apprentices are inducted against vacant positions strictly based on their rank in the panel. Selected candidates are informed only via email.
Important: Candidates shortlisted for document verification/interview are not eligible for Travelling Allowance (TA). No request to change the place of interview or place of posting will be entertained.
Stipend / Monthly Salary
Candidates selected under ISRO ISTRAC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 will receive a monthly stipend as fixed under the Apprentices Act. The stipend varies by apprentice category as follows:

Candidates called for document verification must carry all original documents to the venue. Failure to produce any of the required originals will result in disqualification from the apprenticeship training.

Troubleshooting & Common Mistakes to Avoid
Many eligible candidates get rejected due to avoidable errors in the email application. Review these common pitfalls carefully before sending your application to ISRO ISTRAC.
Wrong email ID for location: Each training location has a separate email ID. Sending your Bengaluru application to the Lucknow email ID will result in rejection. Double-check the email address against the location you are targeting.
Missing Post Code in subject line: The subject line must clearly mention the Post Code (e.g., “Application for Post Code: GA02”). Emails without the Post Code may not be processed.
No NATS Enrolment Number: Registration on nats. education.gov.in is mandatory before applying. Not including the NATS Enrolment Number in the email body is grounds for rejection.
Passing year outside 2024-2026: If you passed your qualifying course before 2024, you are not eligible regardless of your marks or experience.
Applying with a private or sandwich course degree: Degrees obtained via private mode, correspondence, or sandwich courses are explicitly not accepted. Only regular candidates qualify.
