The Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Basohli, under the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, has issued a re-advertisement notice inviting applications for the temporary engagement of Guest Faculty for the academic session 2026-27. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the Electrician trade by submitting their applications in the prescribed format along with the required documents.

The engagement will be made on a need basis for the academic session 2026-27, subject to the prescribed eligibility conditions and selection criteria.

Trade Details :

The recruitment notice has been issued for the following trade:

Electrician (Self Finance): Candidates with the prescribed engineering degree, diploma, or relevant trade qualification can apply, provided they fulfil the required experience conditions and possess the essential National Craft Instructor Certificate (NCIC).

Educational Qualification :

Candidates applying for the Electrician trade must meet any one of the following qualification requirements, along with the essential instructor certification.

Option 1: Degree Qualification

Candidates must possess a B.Voc. or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a related prescribed discipline from an AICTE/UGC-recognised engineering college or university. Applicants under this category must have at least one year of experience in the relevant field.

Option 2: Diploma Qualification

Candidates must possess a three-year diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a related prescribed discipline from an AICTE-recognised institution or a recognised Board of Technical Education. Alternatively, candidates may hold a relevant Advanced Diploma (Vocational) from DGT. Applicants under this category must have at least two years of experience in the relevant field.

Option 3: ITI Trade Qualification

Candidates who have passed NTC/NAC in the Electrician trade must possess at least three years of experience in the relevant field.

Essential Qualification: A relevant National Craft Instructor Certificate (NCIC) in any of the variants prescribed under DGT is mandatory.

Candidates should carefully verify their qualifications and experience against the prescribed requirements before applying.

Age Limit

The minimum age required to apply is 18 years.

The maximum age limit is 45 years as on 1 January 2026, in accordance with the recruitment notification.

Selection Process and Merit Calculation

The selection of Guest Faculty candidates will be based on a merit-point system carrying a maximum of 100 points. The prescribed criteria are as follows:

Basic Essential Qualification – 70 Points

A maximum of 70 points will be awarded for the basic essential qualification, calculated according to the marks obtained in the prescribed qualifying examination or trade certificate, in accordance with DGT norms.

Higher Relevant Qualification – 10 Points

Candidates possessing higher relevant qualifications, such as an M.E., M.Tech., Ph.D. or other applicable qualification relevant to the trade or discipline, may receive up to 10 points.

Professional or Technical Certification – 5 Points

A maximum of 5 points will be awarded for relevant professional or technical certifications, such as NET, SET or GATE, as applicable under the prescribed criteria.

Relevant Teaching, Training or Field Experience – 5 Points

Candidates may receive up to 5 points for relevant full-time teaching, training or field experience gained after obtaining the required qualification in a J&K UT-recognised technical or skill institution.

Structured Interaction or Demonstration – 10 Points

Up to 10 points will be awarded for a structured interaction or demonstration conducted before the Selection Committee. Candidates may be assessed on subject knowledge, communication skills and practical or demonstration ability.

Total Maximum Marks: 100 Points

The merit points will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, as specified in the recruitment notice.

Important Terms and Conditions

The engagement of Guest Faculty will be temporary and limited to the academic session 2026-27. The requirement will be determined on a need basis, and the assignment will be co-terminus with the academic session.

The institute reserves the right to terminate the engagement in cases of non-performance, in accordance with the applicable rules and guidelines.

The recruitment will be governed by the Jammu and Kashmir Guest Faculty in ITIs Engagement Policy and the relevant government instructions issued from time to time.

Candidates must maintain discipline, punctuality and professional conduct while performing their duties. They will be required to work to the satisfaction of the students as well as the Head of the Institution.

Indiscipline, misconduct, moral turpitude or submission of false documents may result in disengagement.

Before joining, selected candidates must submit an undertaking or affidavit, duly attested by a First-Class Judicial Magistrate, confirming that they understand the temporary, session-specific and terminable nature of the engagement. They must also acknowledge that they have no claim to regularisation, permanent absorption or continuation of service on any grounds.

Mere submission of an application or fulfilment of eligibility conditions does not guarantee engagement. Selection will be made strictly in accordance with the applicable policy and prescribed procedure.

The institute also reserves the right to reject incomplete or deficient applications after assigning appropriate reasons.
