JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification
Class-IV (MTS)
For Class-IV (MTS) posts, the required qualification is:
- Minimum: Matriculation
- Maximum: 10+2
Sanitation Worker
For Sanitation Worker posts, the required qualification is:
- Minimum: 8th Pass
- Maximum: 10+2
These qualification requirements are specified in Annexure-D of the JKSSB notification.
Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification on or before the cut-off date. Original certificates will be required during Document Verification.
JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
The age will be calculated as on January 1, 2026.
For Open Merit candidates, the maximum age is 40 years.
For SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS and OBC candidates, the maximum age is 43 years.
For Physically Challenged Persons, the maximum age is 42 years.
The prescribed date-of-birth limits are also specified in the notification. For example, OM candidates should not have been born before January 1, 1986, while reserved-category candidates with the 43-year maximum age should not have been born before January 1, 1983. Candidates should not have been born after January 1, 2008.
The notification also provides specified age provisions for Ex-Servicemen and a five-year upper-age relaxation for eligible candidates claiming additional weightage as casual workers under the relevant rules.
JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Domicile
Candidates applying for the advertised posts must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
A valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority must be available on or before the last date of submission of the online application, i.e. November 3, 2026, unless the date is extended.

JKSSB Application Fee 2026

- Eligible casual workers engaged for five years or more – 5 marks
Divisional Cadre Selection
For Divisional Cadre posts, the selection carries 100 marks:
- Written Test – 80 marks
- Home Division – 5 marks
- Candidates whose family member has not been in Government service – 5 marks
- Eligible widows, divorced women, judicially separated women and orphan girls – 5 marks
- Eligible casual workers engaged for five years or more – 5 marks
District Cadre Selection
For District Cadre posts, the selection carries 100 marks:
- Written Test – 75 marks
- Home District – 10 marks
- Candidates whose family member has not been in Government service – 5 marks

- Eligible casual workers engaged for five years or more – 5 marks
JKSSB Exam Pattern 2026
The written examination will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
The questions will be set in English language only.
There will also be negative marking. For every wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
