QUALIFICATIONS: –

For Assistant Professor
Eligibility (A or B) :

I. Good Academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.

II. A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master’s level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Differently-abled (physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in appoint scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories motioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace marks procedures.

III. A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.

IV. The National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited test (State Level Eligibility Test SLET/SET) shall remain the minimum eligibility for appointment of Assistant Professor and equivalent positions wherever provided in these Regulations. Further, SLET/SET shall be valid as the minimum eligibility for direct recruitment to Universities/Colleges/Institutions in the respective state only:

Provided that candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009, or the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2016, and their subsequent amendments from time to time, as the case may be, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or any equivalent position in any University, College or Institution.

NOTE :

1. However, candidates seeking exemption from NET/SLET/SET are required to produce a bona-fide certificate from the concerned University(s) to the effect that the said candidate has been awarded PhD. Degree in conformity with the UGC Regulations i.e. all the conditions laid down in University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for Award of PhD. Degree) Regulations, 2009/2016 are fulfilled by them at the time of submitting their PhD, thesis).

2. In case the eligible candidates possessing NET/SET/Ph.D. are not available/ suitable, the candidates having Master’s degree with 55% may also be considered as Teaching Assistants. Their salary shall be as per University norms.

3. This is subject to the outcome of writ petition(s)/if any, pending before any Competent Courts of Law.

4. The University reserves the right not to conduct interviews for any of the temporary engagement on contract basis, advertised, (if circumstances so warrant), without assigning any reason thereof.

5. The engagement shall be terminable before the expiry of the engagement period with one (01) months’ notice from either side or on payments of one month’s salary in lieu of the notice.
