The Population Research Centre, Srinagar invites online applications from the domiciles of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir for one post of Research Investigator (SC Category) under University of Kashmir, Srinagar-190006 (J&K), accredited Grade „A++‟ by NAAC. 2. At least Second Class Post Graduate Degree in Demography/ Population Studies/ Statistics/ Economics/ Mathematics/ Sociology/ Social Work/ Psychology/Anthropology/

3. Knowledge of Computer Applications

The post is temporary and likely to continue with the continuation of the Population
Research Centre at the University of Kashmir, J&K by the Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
a) The age of candidates for the above posts as on 01.01.2026 should be:
a. Not below 18 years; and
b. Not above:
i. 40 years in case of Open Merit.
ii. 42 years in case of Physically Challenged candidates
iii. 43 years in case of SC/ST-1/ST-2/ BA/OBC/EWS/LAC/IB.
iv. 50 years in case of Substantive In-service State University Employees of the UT of J&K.
b) In addition to Pay Band/ Pay Level, D.A. Medical Allowance, House Rent and other
allowances as admissible to the staff of the Population Research Centre is payable to the
appointees.
c) The appointee is not entitled to GP fund/ pension, however, Contributory Provident Fund/
NPS/ gratuity and leave encashment will be applicable to the appointee as permissible
under rules/ guidelines of the Ministry.
d) Terms and conditions of appointment of the candidates shall be governed by the
provisions of the Kashmir & Jammu Universities Act, 1969, and Statutes & Regulations
made there under from time to time, and the Union Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare, whichever applicable.
e) The University reserves the right not to fill up the post advertised, if circumstances so
warrant, without assigning any reason thereof.
