Re-engagement of retired Railway employees in the Operating, Commercial, Personnel & General Administration Departments of Jammu Division due to service requirements.

In terms of Railway Board’s instructions issued vide letters No. E(NG)II/2024/RC-4/9 dated 15.10.2024 (RBE No. 96/2024) and No. E(NG)II/2024/RC-4/9 dated 20.06.2025 (RBE No. 55/2025), it has been decided to fill up vacancies in the above departments of Jammu Division by re-engaging retired Railway employees for the following posts.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Age Limit:
Retired employees must be maximum 64 years and 6 months old on the closing date of notification. Re-engagement is valid only up to the age of 65 years.

LARSGESS:
Retired employees must not have retired under the LARSGESS scheme.

Pay Level:
Re-engagement will be done by calling applicants who retired from posts in the same cadre/category or up to three levels higher than the post for which re-engagement is being considered, subject to the condition that the applicant retired from the same Pay Level. Preference will be given to those retired from higher Pay Level.

Termination:
Re-engaged staff shall be discharged immediately on joining of selected candidates from RRB panels available for regular appointment after training. In case of regular employee posting or reduction in vacancies, re-engagement of junior-most retired employee(s) (based on merit list) will be terminated with immediate effect.


B. DURATION OF RE-ENGAGEMENT

The scheme will remain in force for an initial period of two years from the date of issue of instructions or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The engagement period for an individual shall be one year or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Extension for one additional year (up to the age of 65 years) may be granted based on satisfactory performance.

Administration reserves the right to terminate services of re-engaged employees before completion of tenure by giving one month’s notice.

Re-engaged employees may be posted at any station within Jammu Division based on requirements.

Applications Procedure :

Applications should be submitted to the Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, Jammu Division, Northern Railway, either personally to the Ch.OS Personnel Branch at Divisional Railway Manager’s Office, Annexe Building, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu–180020, or by registered post at the same address, or via email at [email protected].

A photocopy of PPO (7th CPC) and first page of bank passbook/cancelled cheque must be attached.

Medical fitness certificate for the appropriate post issued by a Railway Doctor is mandatory.

Last date for submission of applications: 11.06.2026. Applications received after this date will not be entertained.

Monthly remuneration will be determined by deducting basic pension from last basic pay drawn at the time of retirement.

Applications must be submitted only in the prescribed format provided in Annexure-A.

D. SUITABILITY AND COMPETENCY

A designated committee will finalize applications based on suitability and competency.

No written examination will be held.

The committee will consider work experience and past record of the staff to ensure fitness for the required purpose.

REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS :

Remuneration, allowances and leave of re-engaged retired staff will be as per OM No. F.No.3-25/2020-E.IIIA dated 09.12.2020 of Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

A fixed monthly amount will be admissible as remuneration during the contract period, arrived at by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement.

No increment, Dearness Allowance or HRA shall be allowed during the contract period.

Transport Allowance for commuting between residence and place of work shall be allowed as fixed at the time of retirement.

TA/DA on official tour will be allowed as per entitlement at the time of retirement.

Paid leave of absence may be allowed at the rate of 1.5 days for each completed month of service. Accumulation beyond a calendar year is not allowed.

Re-engaged employees will be paid as per instructions of Printed Serial No. 15250/2019.

Job Recruitment in AIIMS Jammu

For re-engagement, APARs for the last five years will be evaluated. Only candidates with at least “Good” grading for all five years will be considered.
Integrity and vigilance status will be verified. Candidates must be free from any ongoing DAR or vigilance cases.
