The original detailed advertisement also referred to Electronics as a tentative discipline through GATE EC. However, the 03 November 2026 vacancy notice provides vacancies only for Electrical, Civil and Computer Science. Therefore, the present vacancy total of 319 includes only these three disciplines.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have appeared in and qualified the corresponding GATE 2026 paper. GATE scores from previous years are not valid for this recruitment.

Selection Process
There is no separate POWERGRID written examination for this recruitment. Selection is based on the candidate’s valid GATE 2026 score followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Shortlisting

Group Discussion carries 3% weightage and does not have separate qualifying marks.
