Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the Medical Consultant position must fulfil the prescribed educational and experience requirements.
The applicant should possess an MBBS degree from a university recognized by the Medical Council of India under the allopathic system of medicine.
Candidates holding a postgraduate degree in General Medicine are also eligible to apply.
In addition, applicants must have at least two years of experience in practising medicine in a hospital or clinic.
The applicant should also have their own clinic/dispensary or place of residence within a radius of approximately 3–5 km from the RBI office at Rajbagh, Srinagar.
Salary
The remuneration will be paid on an hourly basis and will remain fixed during the contract period.
MBBS doctors with up to 20 years of experience: ₹1,400 per hour
MBBS doctors with more than 20 years of experience: ₹1,800 per hour
Doctors with MD qualification: ₹1,800 per hour
The indicative duty requirement is 8 hours per month, as per the Bank’s requirements.
Out of the total monthly remuneration, ₹1,000 per month may be treated as conveyance expenses.
The remuneration is payable on a monthly basis. Taxes will be deducted at source according to applicable rules.
Contract Duration
The engagement will be for a period of three years from the date of engagement.
The contract is temporary in nature and will not provide any claim for regular employment with RBI. There will be no renewal of the engagement after completion of the three-year contract.
The selected Medical Consultant will not be entitled to regular employee benefits such as pension, provident fund or gratuity.
Selection Process
The selection will be made through an interview of eligible candidates.
RBI may raise the minimum eligibility standards or shortlist candidates depending on the number of applications received. Meeting the eligibility criteria alone does not guarantee a call for the interview.

Candidates shortlisted after the interview will have to undergo medical tests and document verification before engagement. The cost of the medical examination will have to be borne by the candidate.
The selected candidate will also be required to sign the contract and accept the prescribed terms and conditions and Code of Conduct.
Duties of the Medical Consultant
The appointed Medical Consultant will provide medical services to RBI staff, eligible family members and other beneficiaries as prescribed by the Bank.
The responsibilities may include treatment of illnesses, handling emergency cases, administering injections, dressings and minor surgeries, issuing medical certificates, conducting medical examinations and referring patients to appropriate hospitals when required.
The consultant may also be required to visit staff members at their residences, provide medical opinions on claims, inspect the office premises for sanitary and hygienic conditions and maintain necessary medical records.

In cases involving major emergencies or accidents, the Medical Consultant may be required to accompany the patient to the hospital, subject to availability.
Working Conditions
The Medical Consultant will work during the prescribed duty hours and may be required to attend the Bank’s dispensary for longer periods when necessary.
RBI reserves the right to alter the duty hours or location of the dispensary according to its administrative and operational requirements.
If the Medical Consultant is absent from duty, they will have to make substitute arrangements acceptable to the Bank, subject to the prescribed qualification and experience requirements.
