The Population Research Centre, Srinagar invites online applications for the posts of Associate Professor (01 post) under University of Kashmir, Srinagar-190006 (J&K), accredited Grade „A+‟ by NAAC.

Prescribed qualifications :
1. A Master’s Degree in Demography/ Population Studies/ Statistics/ Economics/ Mathematics/ Sociology/ Psychology / Anthropology /Geography with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale, wherever grading system is followed;
2. Persons with Post Graduation Degree other than Demography/ Population studies should have completed a minimum of one year regular course in Demography/ Population studies at a recognized institution/ University;
3. A good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the subjects mentioned at Point No. 01;
4. Published Research work of good quality on any aspect of Health preferably relevant to MoHFW’s Health Schemes and Programmes;
5. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/ or research in an academic/ research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/ Industry with a minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC listed journals and a total Academic/Research score of seventy-five (75) as per the criteria given below in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Guidelines, July, 2018.
The posts are temporary and likely to continue with the continuation of the Population Research Centre at the University of Kashmir, J&K by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS :
a. A candidate should have a minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC listed journals and a total Academic/ Research score of seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Guidelines, July, 2018.
b. Any publications in predatory/ dubious journals or presentations in predatory/dubious conferences shall not be considered for academic credit for selection and confirmation. With effect from 14.6.2019, research publications from journals indexed in UGC-CARE Listed Journals/ Scopus/ Web of Science listed Journals only would be considered for all academic purposes.
c. Each API score must be supported by the documentary evidence in the Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) Proforma, without which no claim on account of Academic/ Research Score will be entertained. It is mandatory that the candidate
mark Page No./s on all the supporting documents as in the Application Form.
d. The details with regard to ISSN/ISBN, sole author/Coauthors/Joint publication, refereed/non-refereed/ indexed/ non-indexed and local/ national/ international status etc. must also be reflected in the publication part of PBAS proforma supported by documentary evidence.
